Aliens

I just picked up this disc the other day.

I had forgotten how damn good this film is. The transfer is grainy, but its the best I've ever seen it. It beats the hell out of my old fuzzy pan&scan VHS tape. And its the first time I saw it in its full widescreen glory.

The extras were OK, but I bought this one becuase its the directors cut, and I hadn't seen the directors cut since it was on Pay Per View like 3 years ago. The behind the scenes stuff was pretty fucking boring as well as the James Cameron interview. I would have boughten this disc if it came with nothing, I just needed the directors cut, and I cant wait to get some speakers so I can pop the cherry on them with this disc.

What I thought was really interesting was the Alien 3 teaser. I had heard about it but had never seen it. Does the Alien 3 DVD come with the other trailer for it? you know the one with all the cut scenes.

Did you buy the Laser Disc or the DVD/ My DVD shows absolutely no grain in the transfer.

The Alien3 disc DOES have that cool trailer - it's at the end of the documentary (sneaky, eh?)

The Aliens does have a lot of fucking grain in it, but this is how it was shot, so I'm not too bad about it.

The grain I noticed was intentional. And it wasn't severe. It was like the grain in Sid and Nancy but not as bad. It wasn't as grainy as say Mad Max or Scarface
