Well, Travolta came back with Pulp Fiction.

Best wishes for Stallone to do the same, but that review is grizzly.

He is a no talented hack and deserves what he gets. He coasted into fame, and know it's all falling out from under his feet. :lol

Coasted? I don't think that's a very accurate statement--Rocky was a terrific film. First Blood was good for what it was--and many people still find the first 2 sequels to Rocky "guilty pleasures".

Stallone's problem has been with his choice of projects--which is extremely worse, then, say, Schwartzenegger (although not recently). He was typecast as the big dumb action hero--and it has backfired on him since we are no longer living in the excess-filled years of the 80s.

I liked Stallone in Cliffanger A LOT. I thought he was great in all the Rocky films (even V). I wasn't really connected with Rambo (some war vet goes psycho on some small town cops). I also liked watching Driven. That movie was cool in my opinion. I guess I'm saying that I like Stallone and don't think as many of his movie-choices were as poor as a lot of other people.

Well, I have always been a big Stallone fan but am very aware of the short comings in his career. His acting, though not bad, tends to be redundant (ALA Steven Segal) and lacks the humor and light heartedness of the Swarzenegger charisma.

I saw Eye See You and though it was a plain film, it was not bad. Sure, it had bad elements. The reviewer was definately making things out to be worse than they were, but it definately needed some work. There are a couple big actors in the film with barely a handfull of lines and I admit, I don't know why they did it.

The film is a bit dreary and there are the typical "ha ha ha, I'm the crazy bad guy trying to get you" scenes that I think are so comical and lazy. Stallone is trying to show is range but is still stuck in a mediocre film, but better (if less stylish) than Get Carter.

It's too bad the role for a great return has eluded him, but hopefully he'll get it one day soon. I'd still see a Rambo or a Rocky if only for a glimpse to the ol' Sly of yesteryear.....

Possibly: He's writing Rocky VI (also to star, apparently Dolph Lungdren) right now.

It's his last chance.

ROCKY is Stallone's best movie. None of his other movies
comes close to ROCKY. Has anybody seen or does anybody
remember OVER THE TOP? (the arm wrestling movie)
WHAT A HORRIBLE FILM!!! How about COBRA? Another piece
of s**t! Stallone and Bruce Willis are actors that play in anything
without considering how bad the movie might be.

Nighthawks is also an excellent flick. IMHO even better than Rocky. Billy Dee is cool, Sly is even cooler, and "Is that Rutger Hauer?" is too cool for school...

Haven't seen NIGHTHAWKS. Maybe I'll have to. Sounds like

What about Copland? I thought he did a pretty good job in that movie, but Stallone has been known more for his flops, like Oscar, Tango & Cash, Demolition Man and The Specialist...

And we can't forget Rhinstone. :p

Funny this topic came up, I have been thinking about how he has dropped out of sight lately. I did like Copland, that is the last thing I have seen him in.

This is kind of a shame. I also think that Stallone is capable of more than he seems to be. I also think that First Blood was a good film, and Rocky (which Sly also wrote, in 3 days) was a great film. I agree, that he keeps picking lousy projects, but it may be that crap is all he's offered anymore.

I hope he's able to find a true comeback soon, because I think he has some real talent that just hasn't been exercised in a while.

IMHO (and I'm trying to be nice) Stallone's career disintegrated after Rocky II. And after what he did to "Judge Dredd" (which, in a perfect world, would have been an excellent franchise) he shouldn't be allowed to work again...
