Car Wash might also be a purchase depending on the A/V quality and how it differs from the current release. Peace.....

I've rented the crappy Goodtimes version of Car Wash, so if Universal is putting out a better DVD (OAR and better picture/sound quality), I'll definitely pick it up. I'm a sucker for the silly Sea of Love and now that it's a SE, I'll be picking it up as well (wasn't the film considered Pacino's "comeback" film in the late 80s?).

Great news about the Anthony Mann westerns ! The Far Country is a personal favourite of mine.
Anyone else agree that, without the stretching roles he received in the Mann films, James Stewart would never have been able to do the work he did in Vertigo ?

The other possibility is that Universal is waiting to see if Fletch Won is going to be made. If it is made, Universal could then put out the Fletch SE and Fletch Lives and benefit from the new movie (which would be released by Miramax, another Disney connection). Either way, I hope it comes out soon, as it's only VHS movie I have that aren't available on DVD (other than the Star Wars Trilogy of course). |
