Disney Animation

I have noticed from the screen shots of the menus that they are Anamorphic. Why do this if the actual film will be 4:3? Or have they opted to do the films in Anamorphic?

Excuse my ignorance, but how can you tell just by looking at a screenshot, I'm presuming one of the ones from the net, that the menus are anamorphic?

Because the menu shots are rectangles. Actualy, I've noticed this as well. From what I understand, a lot of non-animorphic DVDs have animorphic menus. (go figure). I think it's fair to assume that these DVDs are NOT going to be animorphic.

Ah.

Well, wouldn't be the first time. I remember Predator's menu is anamorphic, though the movie itself is not.

I suppose it's not possible that the menus are simply widescreen, and that the black was simply left out of the image? For the sake of argument.

Suppose it's possible, but I can't recall seeing widescreen matted menus before. Seems kinda silly.

But, on the otherhand, dvdreview is telling us that Tarzan'll be out on DVD early next year day-and-date with VHS in Animorphic widescreen. But, as they said, it's not yet confirmed by Mr. Di$ney, so don't start counting chickens, and even if it IS true, it doesn't say anything about the other titles.
