Good article: 10 DVDs to own according to CITYSEARCH
Hey everyone --
Came across a pretty good article about ten DVD films to own. Here's the link: http://newyork.citysearch.com/E/F/NYCNY/0010/05/43/ I don't know if it would be my top ten, but it's a good read... |

Then why would Diabolique be on the list? Or Days of Heaven? The former has an alright print for a film of its age with absolutely no features to speak of, while I never could get a Days of Heaven that didn't have a specific glitch in it, and as its only special feature it has the trailer. How do either of those surpass, say, Alien, or Contact?

Contact? PWAHAHRHAHAHAHHAHAHAR!!
I agree totally with the site that the quality of the disc shouldn't be the only factor here. I mean I would never waste my money on something like Contact no matter what the transfer looked like. I would rather watch my 5 year old VHS tapes of Bad Timing, The Conversation or Once Upon a Time in the West anyday. About time those films were given a release as well! Perhaps Coppola will release the Conversation through his new DVD production factory. And what the hell are Paramount up to with OUATITW?! Release the goddamn film, you bastards! |
