Escape From New York

Special Edition EFNY DVD -Yeeesssssssssssssssss! That says it all really :

If you don't already know Escape from New York Collectors edition is scheduled to be released on December 31st. It's going to have audio commentary with John and Kurt, Deleted scenes containing an alternate beginning and alternate ending. Hope you like the news. Matt

Very good news - a very cool flick. Just think, without this movie Kurt Russell could have ended up as another Disney castoff like Tommy Kirk or Dean Jones...

An alternate ending, though? That's an intriguing thought. Maybe Carpenter had an even darker finish in mind.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but Dec. 31st is the date given to previously announced and/or cancelled discs. So don`t expect it on Dec. 31st it will probably be released next year.

You guys in North America are lucky when it comes to DVD releases, we in region 2 land have to import all the decent stuff from US or Canada, region 2 disks even differ in content. However we have Escape from New York on release in region 2 format already!

Actually you have it wrong. The disc is "Mary Chapin Carpenter's 'Herbal Tea in New York'"

Well I belive the Region 2 version of EFNW has some extra footage - simillar to the LaserDisk version. It's released by BMG.
