Columbia House surprises me on a damaged disc.
The bonus disc included with the Cleopatra Five Star Collection I bought from Columbia House was scratched. This caused about 10 - 12 minutes of the documentary on the disc to be unplayable. I was prepared to have to mail the DVD back, hope it didn't get lost, and wait for weeks to receive another copy. To my surprise, I called Columbia House and they told me to just throw the old copy away and they would send me a new one. Thats pretty good service if you ask me. Looks like I'll try and sell the old copy off, after all the 2 discs that the feature film is on is fine.

I also had a good experience with Columbia House way back in 2000 when I first joined.
One of the movies didn't play right so I called and told them. They said to ship it back in the envelope provided and made a note on my account to make sure a replacement would be sent. I sent out the damage disc and two days following received the replacement. They had sent out the replacement disc even before receiving my damaged disc. That was pretty cool.

They sent me a rewrapped Duece Bigalow that had a broken case and, upon e-mailing them, they told me to 'destroy' that copy and they'd send me another.
I got the other one and the case was fine (although it was still rewrapped. Even part of the security sticker was still on there.) |
