BTTF Replacements Delayed to March?

Just called Universal's disc replacement line to get my mailer for sending back Back to the Future Parts II and III and nearly laughed out loud when they read me the exact same letter they've been sending out via email. I wanted to yell at them when they said the problems were unnoticable, but didn't. I just sat through it instead of asking them to shut up. However, the person who responded to my call told me that the replacements would be available in late March 2003. I was under the impression they would be ready in late February. Does anyone know if this was changed, or was it an error on the part of Universal's return line?

They are indeed delayed until late March. This has been common knowledge for the past week or so.

Okay, now the other question: why?

Yep, it's true. It's now LATE March instead of late Feb. I have to say I am not surprised about this at all. They already have our $50 and in a lot of cases our mailed back DVDs. What do they care? Why rush? If they put this much time and care in, in the first place we wouldn't be in this mess.

I called to confirm the change and my favorite part of the "script" is when they say that the "minor" problem is unnoticable to viewers of the WIDESCREEN DVD. I stopped the guy and told him that that wasn't true. That it was ONLY the WS version where the problem was visible and that it's NOT noticable on the full screen version. He said he'd not seen them and that he didn't know that.

I asked him who I could contact about the reason for the delay to March and he gave me an email address. In sending the mail I told them that they ought to change their script to reflect the truth about the problem in the WS version. No surprise, haven't heard anything back yet. Who knows if I will. If anyone else wants to take a shot the address is:

universalstudios&dreamworks@leemarketing.com

Maybe if enough of us mail, one of us will get an answer.
