I can only think of 2 at the moment, but they probably mark 2 of my all-time favorite film moments:
1. Gandalf and the Rohirrim charging into battle as the sun rises, in LOTR: TTT 2. The entire opening sequence of Gangs Of New York, including the shaving bit, the walking through the grotto with those drums blaring, the standoff, and of course the battle sequence.

I would like to add another great scene that has yet to be mentioned.
The Pianist - Adrien Brody climbing the fence and hobbling through the street, decimated buldings all around him.

I guess not much in 2002 made a good impression on me. Here are my 'favorites' that I found amusing for one reason or another.

Was Novocaine 2001 or 2002? If 2002, I'll have to add the stuffed rabbit scene. If anyone has seen this flick you'll know what I'm talking about.
I don't think I ever laughed so hard in my life (at a movie). Best. Scene. Ever. |

Wow, this is a great topic. Thanks for posting this, Riedenschneider, it's been fun for me for to compare notes with everyone here. That said, here are my own selections.1. The performance of "Razzle-Dazzle" in 'Chicago.' 2. Spidey's climactic swing through the streets of New York in 'Spider-Man.' 3. The first 20 minutes of 'Minority Report' 4. The last 20 minutes of 'Antwone Fisher' (I bawled like a baby.) 5. The bank scene in 'Bowling For Columbine.' 6. The conversation between Peter and Mary-Jane in the cemetary in 'Spider-Man.' 7. The bad-date montage in 'Kissing Jessica Stein.' 8. The horse breaking free on the ferry in 'The Ring.' 9. Diane Lane's emotional experience on the subway in 'Unfaithful.' 10. Frank teaching his French class in 'Catch Me If You Can.'
