One Hour Photo

How is this movie? It only came to my local cinema for like a week and that was like a couple of months ago so I knew it was going to be out on dvd soon. Anyway I was thinking about buying it blind. How is it?

I loved it, but I can't recommend it as a blind buy though. I think it's one of those movies you either love or hate. My roomate absolutely couldn't stand it, and we normally like the same movies

Defintly a good movie, but defintly not recommend for a blind purchase. It has to be rented first, this is not one of those movies every one is going to like, I can tell you that much. It's a good movie with a great peformance from Robbin Willams.

Thanks fellas, I guess I"ll just rent it then and see if I like it. I'll probably rent that and Rules of Attraction. Stealing Harvard is out Tuesday too but I don't know if Tom Green is going to kill the movie, even though I'm a big Jason Lee fan.

LOL, ok, I'll just check out One Hour Photo. So Rules of Attraction was that bad? I've heard bad things about it but some other people have said it was really good. I'll probably hold of on renting it until it's a 5 rental so I can get it for free.

"Stealing Harvard" is out on Tuesday?! That's new news to me. Oh well, I won't buy it anyways (don't you either, fuck don't even rent it). I'm going to rent "The Rules of Attriction" next weekend.
I'm buying "One Hour Photo" in widescreen!

agreed. I'm a HUGE Jason Lee fan, so i'll see anything with him in it, but I was ENORMOUSLY dissapointed. I laughed MAYBE once.

EDIT: Oh, and I loved One Hour Photo, one of my top 10 films of 2002. But I would, like the others, suggest you rent it first.

Same here man, I love Jason Lee he's great and I like Tom Green but this movie only made me laugh a few times, not worth it at all. And me as same as you think OHP was one of the top 10 films of '02.

Man, we agree right down to a T. That's great.

One Hour Photo was an interesting case... some saw it as an excellent, in-depth character study of a simple man with a troubled past. Others saw it as a useless romp.

I'm definitely on the former as opposed to the latter. This movie blew me away completely.

I think a lot of people left dissapointed because they didn't really examine the character of Sy enough - almost like everything needed to hit them on the head to make them understand. Which is OK, though, since most other movies tend to do that, unfortunately, so you're bred with preconceptions.

The OHF thread in the "Now Playing" section had some great discussion about the film, and it's too bad I signed onto this movie so late in its theatrical run, otherwise I would have participated. You should really check it out after you see the film - I guarantee your appreciation for the film will increase twofold.

One of the best movies of 2002
