If it was released this was in R1 I still wouldnt buy it.
To own the episode all on it's own makes little sense to me. I'd much rather have it tucked right into season six where it belongs and where it makes sense. Is there any Buffy fan who will buy ONLY this episode? I doubt it. And if you did buy it (and your getting the box sets) you'd only end up with it on DVD a second time anyway. Unless your just a big fan of musicals in any form and are interesed in only this Buffy ep and no others it seems kinda dumb to me to release it this way. Although I do find it interesting that it's in 5.1. |

well...the reason may be: IF there are extras on the disc that are not included in the season set...not that I want to give fox any ideas...
also this is the first episode of buffy that I ever watched. It made me a fan. Some might find it nice to just be able to pull it out on its own...I don't know...I'm reaching there, I think. |

Yes, that's because it's a rare promo. That's the sole reason it goes for an arm and a leg on eBay. Not because it's the Buffy Musical, but because people believe it will be some sort of a collectors item as it was not made publicly available. (eBay is for suckers!)
The ones who bought it likely own the other Buffy boxes. I don' think that the market for a single ep is out there (as in buy only that ep and no others ever). You're either a Buffy fan, in which case you'd likely want them all or you are not, in which case you'd likely want none of them. Somthing similar happend back durring the Star Trek TNG releases on VHS. They had only released up to about season 4 or 5 when the series ended. Then, they immediatly released the final ep on VHS. I couldn't understand who would want ONLY the final one that they had to get it out so fast. Without finishing off the rest of season 5, 6 & 7 having the last one available seemed kind of pointless. Are the people out there who are like "Yeah, I'm into TNG but I only want the last one"? Out of 178 eps you only want the last one? Why bother? Last edited by Gigashadow : 03-04-2003 at 11:16 PM. |

I love this episode, though, and I am definitely going to get the Once More, With Feeling episode.

Bottom line is the Buffy Season Six box will eventually be released. When it is, that exact same episode will be included. I don't see any reason to have it as a stand alone item. What do I need two copies of the same episode for? In addition to that, without the rest of the season's story wrapped around it, the episode on it's own is meaningless.

Well, personally, you can get the cast album, and that's all that matters. Marti Noxon singing about her lack of underclothes is music to my ears...um...er...I like the score not, uh, well I mean I DO like women without underclothes but not in that context...I'll stop now.
