Journey to the Center of the Earth

Is this worth a blind purchase?
Any word on the transfer quality?
How would the story compare to 20,000 leagues?

I know ive seen bits & pieces of the film on television, at some point in time, but, cant remember if its a good film, as a whole.

Just picked up my copy, another of the - "I can't wait Films" I've been waiting for.

While the picture looks great the sound has a problem, not having a surround sound system the bass about blew my speakers on the opening sound blast!!!!

Cool little featurette on the restoration of the film showing a cross screen comparison with other attempts at restoration of this film.

A lot depends on how old you are! I remember seeing this in the theater as a kid and it blew me away!

I was/am impressed with how well the special FX hold up after all this time.

Now I can't wait for 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. It also made me want to see the Castaways!

well, yes, except for the bit with the reptiles (sorry, trying to be vague so I don't spoil anything) - that was awesome when I was 8, now it looks very goofy...

otherwise, I love this movie
