Need the end of Swimming with Sharks

Help! I was watching Swimming with Sharks on Brave this afternoon and I missed part of the ending. They went to commercial when Guy fired the gun, and when I got back, they were carting off a body with guy talking to the cops. But at the end they show him with Buddy going into a meeting room. So did he shoot the girl? what was the ending of the movie, because I didn't get it and I'm dying to know!

Since this is NOT about a DVD and instead about a show broadcast on TV recently, this is more suited to Now Playing.

Thanks for your understanding, moving.

Is this the same "Swimming with Sharks" with Kevin Spacey in it?

Yea that is the one. Kevin Spacey plays Buddy. The girl is Ro Laren from ST:TNG

And hey, this movie is on DVD, so the question should be reopened in software!

Sorry.

I thought you meant a show that was on TV. I'll move it back.

Me too, I'm dying here. Watch the thing for two hours and then miss the most important part. I hate that!

If my memory serves correct (and it has been a while), it is the Michelle Forbes character who is shot by Guy. Buddy, apparently impressed that Guy has now demonstrated the initiative to get ahead, tells the police that it was her, disgruntled over something or other, who actually kidnapped him and that Guy saved. Of course, he know has Guy under his thumb completely, in theory.

Like I said, it has been a while and I may be forgetting some specifics so if someone else can fill in additional details, that would be swell

Yes, Guy shot the woman. It was really all he could do. If he had shot Buddy, he would have ended up going to jail. Had he let him go and ran, he would have been caught eventually and gone to jail. But, he knew that if he shot her and let Buddy go, that would show Buddy that he had real balls, and so would get ahead. Granted, Guy is now totally Buddy's bitch, but it beats avoiding gang rape in prison, and he got a promotion out of it. Buddy made it pretty clear to Guy that if he ever wanted to make it in that business, he would have to be ruthless. He wouldn't be able to fuck his way to the top as she had done.

On a side note, I love the hell out of this movie. Kevin Spacey is at his most angry best, just throwing words that can rend limbs. Brutal, but very fuuny, while also being incredibly sad. It's a strange mix, and certainly not a movie for everyone. One of the blackest comedies I've ever seen.

????

I disagree, sorta. My view has always been that although Buddy knows the truth, he's going to start treating Guy with alot more respect. If he tries to change his story to extort him, it won't work.

The look on Spacey's face at the end when he calls him into the office is kinda like "Now that I know what he's capable of, I better not piss him off again."

Yeah, I always read it as a new-found respect thing as well.

This was always such an overlooked gem of a movie. This was Spacey back when he wasn't annoying. Is the DVD any good (i.e. good transfer, sound, decent features)??

This was one of the early Trimark DVD's, which means the quality is rather low. I used to own this and I remember that the menu was very clever, but that there were no real extras apart from a trailer or two. The sound was in 2.0 and the image was widescreen but non-anamorphic and lacking in detail.

I disagree. To me it was more a look of, "The kid's got balls, but I have him under my thumb again." Plus, Guy has this totally hollow look to him when his friend leaves his office and he goes to Buddy's.

But, since none of us knows the writer, I guess it'll always be a mystery.

Thanks for the info... I thought the movie was entertaining, it wasn't like I wanted my two hours back at the end like you do with so many movies nowadays.

Question

Here's one thing I've always wondered --

Who is the woman/secretary on the cover? The character is nowhere in the film.
