I'm pretty sure the slipcase is no more. Same deal with Bull Durham. I don't know if it's happened to any other MGM SEs, though.

Funny you should mention that. I just saw an auction online with the "Original S.E. of Usual Suspects." It's probably ended by now, though. If you hurry you may be able to catch it.

It's amazing how some people crave the slip cases when they're hard to get, but people who don't want them throw them away... kind of a waste.

I found one at Border's last week. The last time I saw it I didn't buy it, so I figured this was the last time I'd get a chance too. They actually have a pretty good selection even though some titles are overpriced. They even still had a brand new copy of T2 with the metal slipcover.

This one seemed to dissapear really quick. I bought it on release day and am glad I did. It's one of the coolest plastic slipcases around. The only one i like better is the new Criterion Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.
MGM special editions with paper slip covers seem to stay around much longer. I still see a lot of Blue Velvet with slip cover. Just saw a Bull durahm with slip cover earlier today.

Usual Suspects and Bull Durham

Funny you mention both of those movies, I have both WITH the slip covers.

IMO both those movies were release date buyers. I know I bought mine fresh on the store shelf on release day.
