this was one of my favorite horror movies in the 80s directed by Wes Craven it was about a new kid in the neighborhood who was a genius, built a robot but the robot was destroyed by a mean old lady across the street with a shotgun. and later in the movie the girl next door is accidently by her father pushed down the stairs and is pronounced Brain dead by the doctors so the smart kid sneaks in before they pull the plug and plans on putting the brain of the robot in the girls head but hes to late still does the job but she becomes zombie like and kills the people that did the robot and the girl harm. it had a young (16 maybe) Kristy Swanson

in it and the robot, BeBe was cool as hell and voiced by Charles Fleischer (roger rabbit) if there is any news of the underated film on DVD id love to replace my aging taped of of HBO copy:p

Man after that movie I had a whole new respect for Basketball.

Yes, it'd be great to see this on dvd! Hopefully uncut to boot.
I'm pretty sure I read somewhere it was cut to secure an R rating (including the famous basketball scene)

I actually saw this in the theaters way back when.....It's a pretty weird flick!! ....Kristy Swanson..

The mean old lady was played by the one who played Danny DeVito's Momma in Throw Momma From The Train

I haven't seen it in years...what was with the "Basketball scene"? I don't remember anything about that part

Spoiler!! Well, Kristy goes into that mean old lady's house w/ a basket ball, dribbles it and throws it at her head, blowing it off. Then her headless boddy is seen walking aroud the living room and tripping over the couch. Pretty classy stuff!
