The ONE Disk you couldn't imagine living without?

If there was one DVD that you couldn't imagine living life without, which one would it be? Everybody that knows me knows that I absolutely love "Aliens" not only because it IS the greatest SCI/FI Horror, Action DVD that has ever been released, but also because it has all the extra "Deleted Scenes" put back into the movie. Please try to keep it to disks that are currently in print since you can't comment on any future disks that may or may not ever see the light of day (i.e., Star Wars Trilogy).

I think I've seen this thread before... DEJA-VU
Anyway, the one disc I don't think I could do without would be RUSHMORE: CRITERION COLLECTION only because its the disc that got me interested in the format to begin with!

Even though PULP FICTION is my favorite all- time movie,
I found the disc I would miss the most is LORD OF THE RINGS:
FELLOWSHIP Extended Edition. The BEST DVD ever produced!

JUST ONE!?!

You guys must have small collections.

I couldn't do without: American Beauty, American Pie 2, American President, South Park BL&Uncut or Family Guy: Seasons 1 and 2.

OK,

if it's one and ONLY one :

- Vertigo

if you tolerate 5 choices :

- Fight Club
- Citizen Kane
- Suspiria
- Blade Runner
- Vertigo

but over 500 dvd's, it's hard to choose from...

Ghost World is probably my most watched DVD (I actually just watched it again today, and am listening to the soundtrack now) with Fight Club coming in second. I couldn't pick just one though. I know that's the whole point of the thread, but that's like saying "pick one of your children to live, as I kill the others". Rushmore is my favorite movie of all time, though, so if I really had to, I'd pick it. If I could hold onto Fight Club, Ghost World, the Royal Tenenbaums, Happiness, and Crumb, I would too. Wait...and Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. Hmm, this is hard.

Gotta be the (soon to be oop) Ultimate Toy Box. I couldn't do without these 2 movies & the awesome assortment of special features.

I love this movie and I love this dvd. Just finished reading the book and I really enjoyed it. It's the first book I've read for actual pleasure since my Junior year in high school - about 7 years ago.

Picking just one is too rough. I'll go with 5 :p
Moulin Rouge!
The Big Lebowski
Taxi Driver
The Passion of Joan of Arc
Juliet of the Spirits

I can watch all of those anytime without getting bored. I love all of their music, performances, characters, visuals etc. I think it covers most of the bases for me.

Five years ago I lived without all the discs I have, so I think I could manage to survive without any of them now.

Probably wouldn't be as much fun, though.

Waiting For Guffman
It's not some super duper stuffed special edition or anything but I never get tired of watching the thing. It always makes me laugh without fail & a lot of the deleted scences are funnier than what was kept in the movie!

I think it would depend on which DVD I had just watch since every time I take one out of the player I am thinking how glad I am to own it.

I would probably pick Citizen Kane. There are so many different things to look out for when watching it that it might have the most replay value for me.

But then again, on any given day I might pick:
Almost Famous
ET
Fresh
Moulin Rouge
Searching for Bobby Fischer
Terminator 2

i'll cheat too... Kurosawa - Four Samurai Classics [bought em individually, but criterion mailed me the box... that's how i get away with four films there]... i'll go with the usual pixar discs too -- Toy Story: The Ultimate Toy Box, A Bug's Life: CE, and Monsters Inc.

Ferris Bueller's Day Off. Not much in way of special features, but the film is always so much fun and it's in widescreen to boot!!!

If we're cheating with boxes, Kurosawa

If we're not, Seven Samurai.

I have a feeling you could watch that movie indefinitely and never get everything that is going on

Drexl's DVD Collection: an exclusive set encompassing more than 200 discs in a very large box. It's a limited edition (only one produced), but the various titles included are all available separately.

Without cheating, I guess I would say Moulin Rouge.
