REMO WILLIAMS is Full Frame?!?!

According to DeepDicount and DVDPlanet's sites Remo Williams is going to be Full Frame only.

This sucks an inordinate amount of ass.

Thnaks MGM, looks like I'll be spending my 14.95 on someone else's release that day.

Dammit...MGM had been one of the best OAR advocates among the studios. Now they are retreating from that, just soon after we all have convinced Warner to shape up! WTF is going on over there?!??!!

Damn Damn Damn! this was one of my favorite cheesy moments from my childhood and i was really looking forward to picking this up, but now screw it. first Fatal Instinct and now this from MGM

i was going to pick up Fatal Instinct because it is just a silly little comedy, and probably would not benifit much from widescreen but i cannot find it in any stores in Canada and the $17.99 Canadian price tag online is way too much for an MGM fullframe title.

Screw MGM! i wont be picking up either of these movies now. ARGGG! *Rant Rant Rant, Rave Rave Rave*

I take it you haven't been over to Home Theatre Forum. They have been attacking MGM since SUMMER LOVERS was released Full Frame. They aren't in their good graces anymore.

One thing though, most of the titles they are releasing Full Frame (like SUMMER LOVERS, MIRACLE MILE and REMO WILLIAMS among others) are films from other studios. They might not have the proper elements to remaster it wide screen.

It sucks, but I guess I will sort of compromise and delay it to see if it pops up in widescreen in another region. I guess it might happen, if MGM does not own the film someone else with access to different materials may (or may not) release a widescreen version. (Crosses fingers)

I never saw this, I a;ways thought it looked goofy when I was a kid. I LOVE the optimism inherent in the title though . . . did the "adventure" ever continue, even if direct to video?

Then why bother doing it all? Didn't their mothers ever tell them if it's worth doing, it's worth doing properly?

Look at the Buckaroo Banzai disc. While I admit that BB probably has a bigger audience than Remo Williams they're both pretty niche titles. But they went hog wild on the disc and it's one of my favorites. While I doubt there's enough material to give Remo the same exact treatment, the least you can do is to get it widescreen. Geez.....

Sort of. There was a pilot made for a television series that never got picked up. The pilot aired once on CBS, i belive.

(And would make a GREAT EXTRA if MGM could get their head out of their ass on this one!!!!!!!!!)

I may completely off base here but, Remo is Orion Pictures is it not ? Orion's been out of business for decades now and as someone has already stated maybe that's all they have ? Where as Buckeroo Bonzai might have been native to MGM ? just guesswork on my part.

And for the record, no the adventure did not continue ala Darkman.

I was so dissapointed that Remo Williams was getting the full frame shaft....... with all the outlets that a studio (mgm) has and knowing that this title is in demand would'nt a widescreen release be expected ??? oh well fuck em I'll save my money for something else...........you bas-terds :flush:

MGM is really crapping the titles out these days. I thought Sony was bad w/ FF only titles.

Actually I did see a Remo Williams sequel on eBay that some sort of film students or something I guess put together... In no way a official sequel of course, and it probably sucks as well...
