Paper Chase is going to be FULL FRAME!

I had preordered it (June 3rd) at Amazon (No specs listed) along with Midnight Run & Sneakers CE (presuming it would be WS). I was perusing DDD & they now have it listed & say it is P&S. Order cancelled. Sorry Professor Kingsfield. No WS I guess I'll have to keep my mind full of mush. I really wanted the movie too. I loved the movie & tv series. WHY!!!!!

On the other hand, Laser's Edge reports 2.35:1 anamorphic widescreen!

Of all the e-tailers I just checked (more than a dozen...perhaps closer to two dozen, both major and minor), only 3 listed anything at all. DDD, LE, and Digital Eyes. DE also says fullframe.

But DDD and DE could both be using system default listings until they get different info. It's common.

LE most probably has the correct listing, since the IMDB reports the film was a 2.35:1 feature.

Also, it's hard for a retailer who defaults to widescreen to show any aspect ratio other than 16x9 (1.78:1), right?

Finally, while there is still the odd item Fox puts out that is non-OAR (My Neighbor Totoro comes to mind), these are only in situations where they are contractually required to use whatever transfer the owners give them, and the owners insist on providing what they already have struck from old VHS or LD releases. Since I'm pretty sure Fox owns this one outright, I have no worries.

Don't scare me like this!

Thanks for the concrete info. I believed you when you first posted & reordered it (this time from DDD). 6-3 is going to be great with Paper Chase, Midnight Run, Sneakers CE, T2 EE, Die Another Day.

Read the back-of-the-box description VERY CAREFULLY and you'll notice an incredibly egregious error...
Houseman's character in the film and TV series is KINGSFIELD, not Knightsfield!
Who copy-edits these things?????

I have a rare Divx Q-Pack for Nutty Professor, where the title on the spine was misspelled. They used to show those to new QA employees during their orientation.
