caddyshack.......a let down???

alright, i love this film, i really do, maybe that why i ma kinda upset with the dvd. First of all, the video and audio are kinda lame, not TERRIBLE but cmon, im sure they could have come up with something better, this was the second release of the dvd. Now the extras, i guess all this was is a port of the video release, if you recall, that was the 19th annv. edition and the dvd, which came out a year later was called the 20th. It was the same version of the film, with the doc on it and the trailer. The doc, whci i did not think was all that great, i mean, it has outtakes and deleted scenes, but i hate when there only in a doc, like not on there own. The doc does not get to indepth either about how the script really came to be and how the film was realesed, it was just like a reflection of a great time, and where the hell was rodney dangerfield, he could not be interviewed? I dont know, this dvd came out in 1999, i think warner was still kinda getting into the swing of things, i know this dvd is not bare or anything, but i feel it could use a reissue. A revamp in the audio video area, maybe throw on the old doc, maybe make a new one, some behind the scenes stuff, all teh outtakes, deleted scenes stuff, i think this would be a perfect choice for a warner two disc set. I mean look at casablance, that was at the smae place as the caddyshack dvd, it had a doc on it, that was the only real feature, now its getting the 2 disc deluxe treatment, and why do all of warners 2 disc sets have to be limited to dramas? think about it, all of them, maybe a musical thrown in there but lets not over look comedy, and some people say this is one of the funniest films ever, sp lets give it the 5 star treatment, what do u guys think?

I really like the 20th Anniversary Caddyshack DVD thats out right now. I think the picture looks good and the little documentary on it is also interesting. I guess there's always room for improvement, but I don't think I'd buy a better version if it came out. I'm happy with what I got.

Actally I think I recall The 19th Anniversery version being Pan&Scan and the 20th ann. having the same features, but the film is presented in its much deserved original aspectc ratio. I'm pretty sure thats the differance. Eithier way I agree that the picture is just ok on the 20th edition, and the sound is weak & thin even for a Mono track.

Hopefully Warner will do a better job with the extras and video quality on the 20th Anniversary of another Ramis/Chase film, National Lampoon's Vacation, coming in August.

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

while the a/v isn't horrible it could've been cleaned up more and should've been. I wish Warner would fully restore the a/v including correcting the colors which are a little too red at times, and include a commentarry, a Goonies type of commentary would be awesome.
