SEINFELD Is Coming To DVD...

This from TVShowsOnDVD.com:

Quote:
The Seinfeld TV series is finally being prepared for a DVD release, according to co-creator/star Jerry Seinfeld. In the May issue of VB sister publication DVD Exclusive (formerly DVD Premiers), Seinfeld says he is helping to create interviews and commentaries and dig up the annual season-ending gag reels that could be included as extras. Seinfeld will be on The Tonight Show Starring Jay Leno, On the Record With Bob Costas, and Live With Regis and Kelly May 14-19 to promote the Miramax DVD of his theatrical documentary Comedian, which he produced and loaded with extras. He said the decision and timing of the Seinfeld series on DVD is in the hands of Columbia parent Sony Pictures, which owns distribution rights. Sources at Sony and CTHE said it's not a question of if it will come out, but when.

FINALLY!

Who needs Friends, Frasier, Cheers, Futurama, Family Guy, Sopranos, Sex and the City, Queer as Folk, Six Feet Under, 24, or even The Simpsons now that Seinfeld is finally coming to our very own homes on DVD!!

Finally the greatest show of all time comes to our favorite format!

I hope they pump these bad boys out quickly too. Maybe 4 seasons a year?

This is awesome news!

Very good news....especially after everyone got scared with the new syndication deal.
So do we have any news on if they are full season sets? I would think (and hope) that they are.

I don't think they will, but they better not stick us with "best of's" or anything like that.

God this is going to drive my wife nuts. I already watch it like two or three times a night in reruns, now I'm gonna have ALL the episodes to be able to watch whenever I want.

It will be nice to have the complete sets as they seem to show the same 10-12 re-runs all the time....

BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!
I knew this would happen. My friend just got the entire series on VCD off of ebay, and I knew that the announcement would be made as soon as he got them.

Any word if the first few episodes will retain the original "Seinfeld Chronicles" title cards?

You noticed that too huh? It's like they can't air anything past the second or third season. You can tell how early the episodes are by looking at the model Macintosh Jerry has in his apartment.

I've noticed they show some pretty early episodes in rerun, which is good. I definitly hope these come out by season, so that I can only buy the episodes that Larry David had a hand in.
After he left, the show sucked. It was a bunch of Harvard-educated hacks trying to write like Larry David, and it was obvious.
FYI, his last episode (not counting the series finale) was the death of George's fiancee after being poisoned by the adhesive on the wedding invitations.
Now I can't wait for "Curb Your Enthusiasm" to come out on DVD.

FANTASTIC News!!!

I have every episode on tape, except for one ("The Handicap Spot"). And the fact that Seinfeld is planning to include interviews and bloopers is icing on the cake.

Giddy up.
