Antwone Fisher---Good Blind Pickup?

I didn't catch this in theaters around the holidays but heard really great things. I didn't see any mention of it on the boards and wanted some fellow DVDFiler's opinions.

Thanks--

It got some good reviews, others called it a glorified TV movie that if Denzel's name wasn't on it, no one would have paid attention to it. The Oscar voters didn't take it seriously though, and it had an extensive Oscar push.

I'm going to rent it first. It doesn't look like it would have much replay value anyway.

With that I agree. It's just another movie about a black mans plight.

Saw it recently, pretty good kinda in the mold of Good Will Hunting(the theme of it). Ebert said he cried twice after seeing the movie twice but i thought it wasn't that emotional and i'm a sucker of tear-jerkers so go rent it.

Looks like tedious "I will survive" Oscar whoring to me. Denzel needs to do a slapstick comedy, or something.
