The 'Burbs re-issue?

Not seen this anywhere, but Amazon is now stating that it's unavailable (I've had it on my wish list for months, but waited to see if there was a new release).

It now says that "This item will be released on June 3, 2003. You may order it now and we will ship it to you when it arrives".

It just looks like a price drop (from $22-something, which was why it was on my wish list for months!) to $11.24, like Midnight Run and Sneakers.

Anyone know if this will have any new stuff on it (it was anamorphic before, with a trailer)? Or if they're going to change the packaging? Hope they keep this one...

It's definately the same disc, with a price drop. It MIGHT get a new cover (like Frighteners, 1941, and *batteries not included), but for now they are only showing the old cover.

Doesn't the original release also include an alternate ending? I remember hearing about this but I never personally confirmed it. Eitheir way I agree with Unicorn and beleive its just a price drop. I hope Universial doesn't hack up the cover art likeTHESE

Can anyone confirm the alternate ending?

If this is true, and Uni go and pull a shitty cover on us, I'll track down that original edition...if it's...the...last...thing...I...do...

It's listed as an easter egg HERE. It dosen't sound like its a hard to find egg. Apparently 151 users have rated the egg so it must be their, but according to their scores it's not very good.

Yeah I have the current release and it's got an alternate ending, which isn't very good. It's listed under special features. The disk is decent, it could really use a new transfer.

God I love this movie. Bruce Dern cracks me up.

"What'd you say we all sit down for a little of the old face-to-face, hey Rube?"

"Here you are, sonny - a little something for the old sweet tooth!"

I like the line...

"I've never seen that. I've never seen a man drive his trash down the front lawn and whack the shit out of it, I've never seen that".

- or something like that (it's been a while).

I LOVE this movie. . .

"Green sky at morning, neighbor take warning."
"Green sky at night?"
"Neighbor take flight?"

LOL!!!!

This movie is one of the funniest movies of all time. Sadly alot of people have never seen it. One of Hanks best performances hands down!

Bruce Dern is awesome in this movie, the best line is when he's talking to Ricky and he keeps bothering him and he's like "Shut up and paint your god damn house!"

Too many funny lines. I need to watch it, I haven't seen it in awhile. One of my top 5 movies ever easy.

i LOVE this movie, reminds me of the neighborhood where i grew up in the burbs. i would kill for a deluxe edition of this DVD with a cast commentary and all the deleted scenes that they have listed at http://us.imdb.com/AlternateVersions?0096734

Well Ill be damned, I thought my sister and I were the only huge fans of this movie! I loved it ever since it came out on video and it became a staple in my collection. We saw this movie ALL the time and practically have the movie memorized. Theres just TOO many funny parts that I just love.

1. Rumsfield running at Ray and Art with the hose "Run to me! Run to water!" Than falling on his ass. So simple yet funny as hell.

2. Am I the only one who stares along with ALL the neighbors as Ray and Art walk to the Klopecs house and dare are eachother to ring the doorbell?

My favorite line that I say even to this day is when Mark tells Ricky.

"Ricky, get this lamo out of your yard!"

"Hey! Get out of my yard lamo!"

Than theres Corey saying the line "Its the pizza dude" I'll bet my life that this the reason that he got the job as Donatello in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie.

LOL!

So many great lines in this movie.

How about this one

When Clopeck(sp?) says to those kids after the fire
"Ok Hepcats, off of the car"
the way he says it always cracks me up

I also like the part where Rumsfield takes off after Hans and slide tackles him and says "I was in the Bush for 18 months and I can snap your neck in a second"

I need to watch it again, some of my quotes might be off alittle it's been awhile since I've watched it. As I watch the movie though I can quote the film from beginning to end. Great film.
