cobra95kev,
sorry for "censoring" your post, we usually don't do this kind of editing, but bootlegs are always a very hot iron... especially if a certain company is involved. Thanx for your understanding! ------------------ Unca Dom, DDS-088 dominikpfleghaar@netscape.net ------------------ It was a dark and stormy night |

Hey guys, c'mon. While we don't want to be too restrictive here, we also have to look out for legal troubles what with this being a high profile site and all.
If you two, or anyone else, wants the URL, then don't make it public. Cobra's email is listed in his profile. Email him and he'll reply. That is simple, and much easier for us, and then the conversation isn't public, thereby we don't know it is going on. Thus, we don't have to crack down, you get your URL, and we are absolved of the issue. Thanks guys, and The Rock hopes you understand the predicament in which this puts us. ![]() DVDFile.Com Moderator LucasP@Wabash.edu ------------------ The Rock says: Who needs Dairy Queen when you've got cigarettes? |

The thing that amazes me is that, apparently, so many people on this (and othher!) Forums (Forae?) have never heard of/used a 'search engine'. Why is that, I wonder? All you have to do is tell the engine to search for VCD and voilŕ: a couple of seconds later you will have reams of URLs, including at least two of companies that sell VCDs...

Rock: Sorry about the public post concerning the "Star Wars" DVDs. But considering the situation, if I were the editor of a prominent DVD fansite, I'd be posting the URL of those bootleg DVDs front and center on the initial loading screen. This is a very, very sensitive issue to a lot of "Star Wars" fans, especially coming off the massive let-down that "Episode I" turned out to be. I'd consider posting the URL's to be a "public service" in light of Lucas's assinine decision to withhold the films on DVD until 2006. But then again, since this isn't "my" DVD site, I'll respect the wishes of the forum moderator.
Hendrik: Pardonnez-moi, o' exalted netizen, for stepping on your bandwidth. Yes, I have heard of that new-fangled device known as a search engine. The trouble is - most search engines are polluted with millions and millions of dead links and totally irrelevant information. For example, pop the term "VCD" into Alta-Vista's websearch and you retrieve 130,785 "relevant" pages. Great. How useful. It's far easier to glean an URL from a fellow user who has already checked the link, found it to be reliable, and who has successfully scored the "hot goods," hush, hush, on the QT. Dig? |

While we may agree in principle that posting a URL to a website that sells bootlegged DVDs of Star Wars would help put a chink in Lucas' armor, it's just not something a site such as ours can do. There are significant legal ramifications, and none of them are good for us.
I don't think anybody wants this site to risk being taken down just so that we can help give the big finger to Luca$film. I think the Petition/Open Letter is a much more constructive way to go about it. I'm glad that the DVDFile is behind this effort. |

"...For example, pop the term "VCD" into Alta-Vista's websearch and you retrieve 130,785 "relevant" pages. ..."
Allright, I popped the term 'VCD' into 'my' Search Engine of choice (www.goto.com) and ...BINGO!!!... right there, right on the first page, are the two purveyors of VCDs I referred to... (and, for anyone wanting others, and having the patience to slog on, there will very likely be several more further on...) It's not rocket science, or some arcane witchcraft, y'know!... ! ! |

Anyone wants to email me can have the following information...
1: Where to get high grade heroin dirt-cheap. 2: Where to find independent contractors to take care of any little problem you may have with landlords, employers, inlaws, etc. 3: Names & numbers of various women who would be happy to show you around the city, if not the world... 4: Locations and cover charges of cockfights near you! 5: The addresses and driving habits of really hot actresses who should be your soulmate, if only they could meet you... I'm figuring, if people on this thread are trying to do stuff that's illegal and unethical, let's go whole hog on this sumbitch!!! Manigrasso P.S.: I'm a latch-key kid, I really don't have any of the above information, just in case sarcasm is lost on you little friggin juvenile delinquents... |

Hey "manigraso" do you ever break the speed limit in your car or maybe forget to use your turn signal. Well buying Bootleg movies by A end user is about the same, they are both misdemeanors. So get over it.

Mr 'Greasy Hands' - I, for one, got your sarcasm, but then, I'm as far removed from being a 'juvenile delinquent' as a person can be at my (ripe, old) age...
BTW, 'my' search engine also provided me with -e.g.- some very nice recipes for 'apple pancakes' (both Dutch style & Bavarian style); also, if you type in the term 'circumcision' you will be led to some highly interesting, informative sites (for instance, do you know why so many American men are circumcized, and when this, frankly barbaric, custom started?); as for 'child porn', I've yet to see any actual pictures - although I did run into a fair number of sites that were against... And, to stoke your moral indignation further, let me state here that there are several perfectly 'legit' sites on the InterNet of companies that -legitimately, provided you are 18 years old, or older- offer to sell you a wide range of VCDs containing -hardcore, egads!- porn movies in all flavors, for all tastes; in fact, one or the other of these on-line purveyors (who shall remain nameless, to protect the innocent) of -perfectly legitimate- 'adult'(HAH!!!) films on VCD¨, may be your purveyor of choice for the DVDs you buy on-line... Peace! (signed) Hendrik-Who's-Just-Had-A-Very-Bad-Hair-Day ! ! |
