Eye of the Needle problem?

I got Eye of the Needle delivered today, and excitedly put it in my player, only to discover that there is a problem. The disc would not start on my machine (Pioneer DVL-700). The tv screen said "play", but it would never start. No menu. Nothing. Tried to get to a title menu, but that went nowhere. Anybody else get this title? Are there problems with yours as well? Any suggestions?

Oh - I was able to get it to play on my computer. But I dont watch movies on my computer.

D#$n!! I was really looking forward to this one!

Ok, I am going to try this again.

It would really be helpful for me to know if anyone out there has bought this title, and if so, does it play on your machine? Me and my pioneer will probably part ways in the not too distant future, so if this is a machine problem, I dont mind holding on to the disc until I get another player. But, if it is a disc problem, I need to return it. I went to dvd.com for technical assistance, and got nowhere (I bought the disc from dvdexpress, which operates dvd.com). Anyway, if you have the disc, and are having no problems, or have any insight or suggestions, I would love to hear from you. Thanks

Unfortunately I don't have neither this particular movie nor the same player as you have, so I can't check this out for you.

However, you could try your disc on another machine (family, friends, relatives, enemies probably have a player, too?) or take it to a store that sells DVD players and ask to test your disk on one of their players (you may disguise as a potential customer for a new player ).

thanks for the suggestion, Dominick. I think that this is what I will do. Maybe I will go waste some time of a circuit city saleperson. They are always good for some fun.

Thanks again Dominick for the input
