Is there a "flipper" list someplace on the net?
I just got a copy of "Goodfellas" on DVD, mostly because it's one of my all time favorite films. Come to find out, it's my very first single-layered "flipper" disc. Is there anyplace on the net where I can get a complete list of these "flipper" discs so I know which discs to avoid? And what nomenclature should I be looking for on the packaging to indicate that the disc is a "flipper"? Dual-layered obviously translates to "no flipper." But are there other clues?
Thanks bunches. grunter |

Among the specs provided by DVD Express is the number of sides for a disc or title. Unfortunately, they don't provide details on how the sides are used, so the usefulness of this detail is limited. Your idea of looking for dual-layer discs is a good one.
A minor observation: I have a copy of "My Best Friend's Wedding," and it is not a flipper disc. Two separate transfers (letterboxed and pan & scan) are included on the two different sides of the disc. ------------------ Wesly Moore ------------------ weslymoore@aol.com |
