The Matrix Reloaded - 3 Covers Done, Help Warner Pick!

The Matrix has us... picking its DVD cover!

Warner Home Video has designed three different covers for the DVD release of The Matrix Reloaded, and they want us to help them pick which one to use! Maybe this is the choice the Architect and Oracle have for us. Anyway, these are the three proposed covers and you can tell them which one you like best at the link.

Yuck! All suck but I go with the first one because of the black. The oher two are just, i dunno, crappier than the first.

Yeah they're all kinda medioker. I'd have to disagree with the first one though, it looks like a 3 headed human. I'd have to go with the middle one, but it's not that different from the last. they should go with a holographic cover like the poster was using this image

Though I am gladthey are not pulling an Artisan and releasing 7 different covers each one with a different character from the teaser posters

Hmm, i think they are allright but i think that the better one is the last. Also its odd that the Wachowski Brothers (or at least that is what it seems) are allowing a Full-Screen version of Reloaded.

From what ive heard, when the 1st one was released the Wachowski brothers declined and told WB to only release it on WS.

I would definitely, definitely pick the first one. The other two look like a bad photoshop job.

I think they should do what Sony did for Spiderman. Put out the crappy cover for the fullscreen and the coolest cover for the wide. With that said, my fave is the 1st one...but I'd buy either 1st or 3rd.

I thought the same thing. It's a real shame that Reloaded is getting the chop, because we know this one will be a big draw beyond us DVD nuts, and if it was OAR-only, that might help educate people. I guess it's a reflection of how far the DVD format has come since the original was released and how mainstream it is now -- no doubt in large part due to the success of the original Matrix DVD. Maybe the IMAX release has something to do with it, seeing a IMAX is cropped too (to 1.44:1), but on IMAX, who cares? .

I have to wonder, though, what's next? A P&S re-release of The Matrix? Remember, when Star Wars Episode II got dual releases Fox went back and gave Episode I the slicer yo match.

Anyway, I like the third one best. The first one comes from a movie poster with Neo and Trinity alone, so adding Morpheus means they chopped some of the other two off and it just feels...cropped. The second one is cool but a bit too plain and the third -- adding the Matrix code to the background -- is the perfect solution to the second's plainlessness. Besides, the third looks most like the original cover, and I really want these to match up.

But, whichever one they coose, I'll buy it!

Actually, the Wachoskis shoot in Super 35, so the fullscreen version -- though crappy too be sure -- isn't a true slicer, per se.

I'm almost positive that when all 3 films hit stores as a DVD box set, they'll be a fullscreen version available of the first Matrix -- if it isn't done in October (when Reloaded debuts on DVD, no?).

There was a Morpheus one like the Trinity and Neo glasses reflection.

I like the third one best. Second one is just too plain, first one suffers from Big-Head-itis.

I like the middle one, as it looks similar in style to the movie posters that were being used.

Big heads or not, the first one is BY FAR the best. The middle one is waaaay too plain. (i liked the cutoff-head posters, but they had style, this is just boring!) And the bottom one is just crap. And that ugly green bar?! VOTE #1!!

Number two is too dull. There's not a lot of color to it and it just looks unattractive to me.

So either the first or third would do just fine for me.

The 1st one by far. But my question is, why is Morpheus holding a gun??? I dont remember him really ever having a gun like that. But please correct me if I'm wrong.

Yes, he did...

All of those covers stink, though, and I'm not going to bother trying to choose one that I would prefer to be the final cover (It's like bad, worse, and awful). But the 2nd one is the best of the bunch, since it's the one that sticks the closest to the teaser posters.

All three versions will probably come in snapper cases....so we all lose.

I like the middle one the best, though, closest to the movie posters, even though it has that ugly bar on the top.

I like the first one....love the individual posters with the reflections on the sunglassess of their important scene. So I am more partial to this one....by the way who's buying the Animatrix tomorrow?!?

Me!!

All three look terrible. Brian is quite correct about the black background looking much nicer with the third design. I'd pick a cleaned up version of Brian's cover over the other three any day

...now how cool would it be to have bunches of different DVD covers, each with one of the chopped off head teasers? -- I still wouldn't buy the DVD, but seeing it in the stores would be a much nicer experience, as those promo shots really just don't look all that great with the heads intact.

Brook

I thought this fan-created cover wasn't too shabby. A little busy, but thought it did a better job in
