Is An Evening with Kevin Smith Rewatchable? ALSO: 10th Anniversary of Mallrats too?

Sorry the title is so dang long...

First, I'm thinking of getting An Evening with Kevin Smith just to complete my Kevin Smith collection. I've never seen it though so I'm considering buying it blind. I'm just wondering if it's something I'd want to watch more than once.

Second, rumor has it that Clerks will receive a 10th Anniversary edition. Will Mallrats receive one as well?

Thanks.

If you like Kevin Smith, AN EVENING is a must buy. Funnier than just about all of his movies. His stories about his involvement with the Superman film and shooting a film for Prince are better than DOGMA or MALLRATS.

Is it rewatchable? Maybe. It is just him standing on a stage telling stories for almost 3 hours (on two discs). Some may not be worth watching more than once, others would be.

As for MALLRATS, nothing announced yet but I don't know what could be included that isn't already on the DVD.

I think an Evening with Kevin Smith is better off as a rental, though if your a completist, it's a must. A 10th Anniversary edition of Mallrats is very unlikely, since there aren't really any more extras to add to it. The new Clerks DVD will be jam packed and will hopefully sport a cleaned up enhanced for 16:9 widescreen version of the film.

I would be amazed if there is a 10th anniversary of Mallrats DVD. Considering how that film is View Askew's bastard child, why would they want to mark the 10th anniversary? They could do it as a joke, I guess.

I love the movie myself, but lets get real... it bombed.

I rented An Evening With... last month and I would definitely buy it. If you're a Kevin Smith fanatic, there's no question about it.

As for rewatchability, that all depends, but for me I think it has a lot of it. It's fairly long and even now i can only remember bits and pieces of it, so by that measure it's a definite buy. Fading memory = excuse to buy more titles?

The only part I can't watch again is the part where he describes his first night with his wife.

I wince just thinking about it.

The dated "Clerks" laserdisc was unceremoniously ported to DVD and released with little fanfare by Buena Vista without View Askew's participation. The existing "Mallrats" DVD is a great special edition made specifically for the DVD format with View Askew's intimate involvement. View Askew has a real reason to revisit "Clerks" but not "Mallrats" so I doubt we'll see an "Aniversary Edition"
