Kieslowski's DECALOGUE

I have been a fan of Krzysztof Kieslowski since the first time I saw his 'Three Colours' trilogy & 'The Double Life of Veronique' but had been unable to find this 10-hour series anywhere (I had to get the CD soundtrack as a Polish import). I will definately get this on 4/18 when Image releases it.

My question:
Has anyone on this forum seen it all or parts of it before? How is it compared to the above mentioned movies?

I don't think you're going to find too many people here in America who have actually seen it before. The original American distributor refused to release it in the States (for some reason; I don't know why, exactly), but it was independently released in a few cities on a cross-country tour at one point, at which critics were able to see it.

From what I've heard from the people who have seen it, they place it either equal to or above the trilogy; I've never talked to anyone who was a Kieslowski fan who didn't love it. I myself am waiting for DVD Express to list it so I can place my pre-order. Can't wait to get my hands on this baby. I've actually written to Buena Vista and requested the trilogy, but this will do me quite well while I await their decision (which will hopefully go in my favor).

Remember when the DVDs come out that it was shot for television originally, so there is no widescreen.

I had a copy of it from a PAL version from England it was terrific but I stopped watching after about an hour because the quality was so bad. I'll be buying Decalogue. By the way WHERE THE HELL IS "Red", "White", and "Blue"?
