The cover on the widscreen version keep case is identical to the cardboard outer case, excpet, insterad of a blue background with a few white-ish colored stripes it has a flame (explosion type) background with a small shot fromt eh movie of the car chase on the ice.

-Flash

Also, the inside of the case itself has black and white artwork. I am not talking about insode the flap cover, I mean the inner inner part of the cardboard case as if you unpeeled it.

Anyone think that maybe DAD will be the first movie in a new James Bond Box set. Meaning, all the yet to be made Bond Movies once they get to DVD will have the same style of over as Die Another Day? This way the set will still match.

If you really care about this, you scare me.

What pisses me off is that you can't skip over the promo for the Bond box set. ARGH! I HATE THAT!!! Nothing guarantees I won't buy something more than forcing me to watch an ad for it every time I want to see a movie I like.

A) As I said in the other thread, there seems to be a collector's edition in the coming sets with a matching cover.

B) I Do care, Booga-Booga!

C) My player skips it by hitting the chapter forward button.

The R2 version of Die Another Day has the reversible cover to match the other 19 films in the metal tin.

If there is a CE coming, I'll just wait. It's just kinda a kick you know all the Bond movies have shared a similiar artwork and just to change it kinda gets to me.

Exactly. I don't know if the one in the set will be sold seperately though. I expect to have to buy it off ebay.

The cover linked to above looks great on my monitor, but unfortuneately, when I go and print it out the entire image gets a purple tinge to it. (So the yellow/orange explosion looks like Barney ate some C4). What's weird is that my printer will print out the images I scanned in just fine. Strange. Also, the cover is just a bit too big for my printer. The margins end up cropping it off so it can only print out about 96% of its actual size. A shame because the cover looks great.

A few tips: You need to print it on legal-sized paper, or fake legal (by taping a strip of paper to the end to start printing closer to the edge). Some printers allow margins of zero. Print at 100%. Always do a print preview before spending so much ink. Don't print covers from the Internet Explorer, and use a paint program instead. The color problems I cannot explain.

Thanks. I figured out that I need to use legal paper to get the full image, and I went and found some and it worked. The color problem is still there, however. Even worse, in the print-preview in Photoshop 7.0, the image looks just fine. I guess the printer is the instrument that is destroying the cover. Oh well. I'll just have to try out another printer that I have here at home.

Try a print test utility. It'll print a rainbow pattern on a sheet to show if each color is reproduced correctly. One of your color nozzles might be blocked (if you have an inkjet). Try running a printer nozzle cleaning utility if you've got one. Typically if the yellow nozzle is clogged, explosions will end up looking purple.

THANK YOU! I see that my yellow portion of my color ink cartridge is messed up. Now I have to figure out how to fix that nozzle, or see if perhaps I'm just out of yellow.

EDIT: I now realize that the nozzle isn't clogged, it's just empty. So I have to throw out a 1/4 full color ink-jet cartridge because one stinking color is empty. Oh well, here goes another forty bucks.

That cover art looks awesome.

I have a different issue with the packaging. The spine on R1 is different to the R4 artwork, which my collection is.

I want the R1 version of Tomorrow Never Dies as the R4 release has the cuts the British version has, which is ridiculous as this was never cut at the cinema.

So I could get all R1 versions to match, but Licence is spelt incorrectly in USA. (well not how we spell it anyway)....

Ah the problems associated with artwork. Totally stupid, but yet it still can annoy

I think it is pretty stupid for MGM to abandon the cover design for the other 19 movies. Why do decision makers make some of the worst decisions in history??

Remember how Tomorrow Never Dies was issued in a double-disc silver case way back when?

Betcha DAD comes packaged as the other Bonds when those other sets finally reach us...

Single disc... before the collection came out... same exact disc. And as I said, this one will be in the collections with another cover, look at the ad.

Now, see, the VHS has a better cover, if not great. Figures. They also reportedly got the Inside Die Another Day doccumentary which makes the DVD special features less special because VHS buyers get some extra bang for their buck too.

Sigh.

Exactly. Of course, it's still a bad photo-shop cover. Me... Want... 007 Collection cover...

In other news I think this will be one of the few releases where I ditch the slip-cover and go with the inner one.

Once I get a new color ink cartridge, I plan on printing out the awesome cover linked to above and using that one instead of the standard one. I guess that makes me pretty anal.
