I love this movie! Bought it blind and it's a total all time fave.

Get the Bootleg cut -- the extras are great, and you still get the Theatrical version for completists.

I try to recommend this movie to everybody - it's quite good.

Oscar, I think you're enough of a rock n roll fan that you'll fall in love with this movie. It's one of my all time favorites as well. Go for the bootleg cut.

the bootleg cut is one of very few "directors" cuts that actually adds a great deal to an already fantastic film - I just wish they'd been allowed to keep the "Stairway" scene in

I voted "yes" and "Bootleg cut"......

Great film and the extra footage is well worth the extra $$ fo the untitled/bootleg version.

There was a question about this the other day in the DVDtalk forums. The poster really wanted the bootleg version, but wasn't sure. After about a dozen enthusiastic pro bootleg posts and one "nay" the poster ended up buying the barebones version. Go figure!

Yes. Bootleg cut. I bought it blind and loved it. It's a great combo of rock and roll, a road movie, a coming of age story and many other pleasant things.

This has one of my favorite performances in it. When Kate Hudson hears about the bet and goes from crying to a smile, it just made my heart melt and I said "wow! this girl has some talent" Can't believe she didn't win the oscar!

Great movie and the bootleg cut is the only way to go.

Honestly, if you get the barebones you're probably going to love this movie so much that you'll wish you could see more of it, which you could if you had the 'bootleg'. One of my all-time favorite movies. Get the 'Untitled - Bootleg' edition.

Do yourself a favor though. When you buy it, watch the theatrical release first. You'll appreciate the director's cut WAYYY more! Plus, the director's cut has my favorite director's commentary of any movie ever.

I'm not much of a music fan, much less a rock-and-roll fan, and I rented the 1st release not knowing what to expect. I fell in love with the movie, the characters, and Kate Hudson.

I bought the Untitled Bootleg cut on the 1st day it came out. Easily recommended.

I can't believe someone voted "no"! This is one of those "can't miss" movies. Buy the bootleg 2 disc version which also has the theatrical cut. Watch the theatrical first and set a nice Sunday evening to watch the bootleg with the super awesome commentary. Easily, one of the very best movies to come out this century, in my opinion.

I bought the standard version blind and absolutely loved it. I then bought the bootleg version when it was released and liked it even more. I can't recommend the bootleg cut of Almost Famous highly enough. Great movie and great DVD.

I bought it as a blind enrollment from Columbia House & it has to be one of my all time favorite blind buys (the bootleg cut).

I always rent before I buy - which is what I did in the case of Almost Famous. Great Movie - one more in a great string of Cameron Crowe films.

I wasn't just blown away with the Bootleg version - but I'm not unhappy that I bought it. As much of a film nut as Cameron is... I'd expect to see more "stuff" on his discs...

Don't take this as a vote against it - I's pick up the Bootleg Version again any day.

btw... does anyone listen to the "Stillwater" CD that came with it?

It's one of my favortie filsm and it is every actors in it best performance of their career to date, except for Jason Lee of course! But its by far Kate Hudson's best! Its ana amazing blend of Cameron Crowe's experiences, road trip movie, rock n roll movie, comedy, drama, coming of age, its jsut great, every1 should have this.
