I hated this movie when I saw it theatrically, but so what. If they want to release a Special Edition DVD, why should you get upset about it? You don't need to buy it. You don't need to rent it. You don't need to ever see it.

No, but the point many of us are tying to make is that while Columbia is re-releasing medicore fair like Enough within a period of less than a year, their policy of a bairbones release and a few months later the SE is growing even more annoying.

So speak with you wallet and don't buy it. It's pretty simple. Why complain that a company is selling something you have no interest in buying? Do you have THAT much money that you're desperate for things to buy?

The point is it is there policies that are irritating. Not that we are forced to buy anything in particular.

They release a bare bones movie and then another SE within a year even on nonsense like this.

That leaves us with the option to buy the barebones and then want (double dip for?) the inevitable SE when it is released

or wait without the movie for an undertermined amount of time for SE while the barebones is on the shelf.

I think you guys missed a step entirely: first we get the bare bones, then we get a special edition. THEN, we get a Superbit!

I know everyone but me hates the Superbit titles, but damn, those DTS tracks are awesome.

Case in point: Starship Troopers. Bare bones, 2-disc special edition, and the forthcoming Superbit. I think it'll happen with Black Hawk Down, too. But we'll see.

Enough was terrible and I think Columbia is just wasting their time and money making a special edition of it.

I won't buy it simply because it's a movie I don't enjoy. But in another case or actually I'll give you 2 other cases, Panic Room & Black Hawk Down. Both movies I want(ed) but I won't double dip if I know there's a SE comming out. We finaly got Black Hawk Down SE And Panic Room is still in development. And you can add Punch Drunk Love to the list but the allmighty power of pt Anderson had that changed for obvious reasons. I and other consumers have to wait that mutch longer for something that should have been done right the first time.

I read how many of the studios, WB, Universal, ect having their SE DVD's ready by the time the movie is released, Columbia should follow the pattern. But untill then I will be sceptical of all Columbia releases. And luckily this year I haven't liked many Columbia films, except for Identity.

SONY is the worst. To many Re-issues and FULL FRAME transfers. Plus they are too steep in price on the catalogue titles.

I think it's a pretty safe bet that we won't see this special edition for the next few years. I just got the Superbit today just because I liked the movie a lot. The special features are very weak compared to other films, but it's fun watching the movie with my friends experiencing it for the first time.

And the reason Sony charges so much for their catalogue titles is because there are special editions of a good majority of the bigger releases (at least a Superbit).

I think you missed his point.

We were suppossed to get a bareboned release of PDL and then the double disc version. But PTA nixed the plan and forced Sony to release the SE first. Heck he even got Superbit stuck on the box. Now there is absolutely no reason for another version. This one has the movie, the extras, and a superbit title.

God bless PTA.

BTW PDL has the best special features of any movie released this year.

What has this world come to..?
Doesn't a movie need to be a hit and have fans before they can justify releasing a special edition?
