"The Willies" deserves to be on dvd!!

I just remembered this fantastically awful children's B-grade horror film called "The Willies" which I rented from a grocery store in 6th grade or so. It was about these little boys that sat in their tent telling "scary stories", an obvious precursor to Nickelodeon's "Are You Afraid of the Dark?". Highlights include: a woman putting her wet poodle in the microwave to dry, only to have it explode(I was eating a meatball Hot Pocket as I was watching this one, and I've never been able to eat one since, for some strange reason);a fat kid turning into a fly and terrorizing his parents; a person going into a fried chicken restaurant and being served a fried rat, and a surprisingly disturbing segment about a school janitor who kills mean children (I don't know how, but it somehow manages to be disturbing!). All of this served up with loads of colorful fake gore and washed up 80's TV stars (It had Sean Astin, cameos by Bobby and Lucy from "Twin Peaks", and even the cast of "Growing Pains"!) make this a memorable and bizarre little film.

The whole thing looked as though it were made on a budget of about $10, and it's EXACTLY the type of movie you would expect to find at a grocery store (You know, with an extremely faded cover and looks as though it hasn't been rented in 15 years). In fact, I'm going to come up with a new genre of film called "Grocery Store Movies", this being a perfect example, along with "Theodore Rex", "Monkey Trouble", and the like. What's the deal with "Lord of the Rings" getting a 4-disc edition but not "The Willies"??? How can this forgotten masterpiece go on being unappreciated??? Does ANYONE besides me remember this??

I thought i was the only person in the country who has ever seen this movie. Its funny, I remember a lot from the fat kid fly segment (proably because it disturbed the hell out of me when i was a kid) but really nothing from the janiitor segment. In fact I didn't even remember it until you brought it up. Somebody should release this.
