Anyone know if Alien 3 (Quadrilogy) will include both theatrical and director's cuts?

Does anyone know if the forthcoming Alien Quadrilogy will include both cuts of Alien 3, or just the new extended cut? Being a completist, if it's just going to have the latter, I'd like to pick up a used copy of the 'Legacy' edition of Alien 3, just so I can have both versions. Anyone have any information on this (I checked previous threads on the quadrilogy, but I didn't see any info about both cuts being included)?

The vote is still out on this one. I've heard all different reports. I've heard it will be a new cut regardless.

Basically, from what I have read, Fincher doesn't want to have anything to do with this film any more, because the studio bastardized his initial cut.

That being said, I don't think you will see any involvement by Fincher, however, rumor has it the Fox will be pulling footage from the cutting room floor and putting together "something" different than the original theatrical release.

Take it for what it is worth . . .

Alien 1

I also heard that there will be a new cut of Alien.

Is this true?

For Alien, I guess they could include the 'cocoon scene' which was cut from the ending and included as an extra on the first disc.

I'm hoping for both the theatrical and director's cut for Aliens as well.

I'm really looking forward to this release. I thought I read that Fincher was going to do commentary? But there are so many rumors at this point, and that certainly sounds like one.

From what I've read, no Fincher commentary (he has basically disowned this film and is terminally pissed at Fox). And it's better than 50-50 that Alien 3 will be the new cut only.

He's obviously not terminally pissed at Fox, since he made Fight Club with them.

I (wishfully) think we're going to get both cuts of each film with director commentary on each.

Well our BIG Alien Quadrilogy thread has been recently updated. It seems to have a good amount of announced specs to make most people happy. Region 1 Release and some added detail form the Region 2 Release I doubt much will be different between the 2 releases.

So please continue discussion about the Quadrilogy in the thread linked above (first link) As i shall be closing this thread now.

Thanks
SilentBob
