Is Star Trek Nemesis worth buying?

I didn't really like Nemesis, but the DVD sounds pretty good. Are the extras worth it? I was curious to see if the deleted scenes added anything to the movie. I guess it's worth a rent.

Did anyone buy it and regret the purchase?

No the movie is very boing and a DVD is not worth buying just for the extras. You should rent it.

I think you may have answered your own question there.

I can't think of a movie I disliked, but then after watching the deleted scenes decided I liked it(and that it'd be worth owning). Yes deleted scenes can be great if it's a movie you enjoy, but otherwise I don't think they'd totally change your like/dislike of the movie. This could be argued if the deleted scenes were incorporated into the movie. But in this case I'm just assuming they're an extra feature.

Why not just buy a movie that you actually enjoy???

Yeah, if you don't like the movie, then there's no point in buying it. It's certainly not gonna make you like it.

I have it, but I did kind of like it (although I was disappointed in it overall). But if you don't really like it, it's probably not worth buying. However, you may rent it to check out the deleted scenes (the few that are on there, at least). I felt that the first one and last one would have greatly added to the movie.

And the transfer/sound on the movie is pretty good, too.

Cons:
* If you didn't like it, I'm not sure repeated viewings will improve your taste for it. Maybe, but then again maybe not.
* An SE version will DEFINATELY come out later, perhaps as a director's cut (but then again the director has already stated that this version IS his cut of the film).
* At most places, it's a bit pricey for what you get...just 'cuz it's Trek (and I'm a big Trekkie!)
* The new case with the two little security tabs on the right edge sucks big-time.

Pros:
* It was definately better than Star Trek V: The Final Frontier. This film is, in fact, better than Star Trek: Insurrection, in my opinion. I think it WAS a disappointment, however it was not nearly as bad as everyone is making it out to be. C- or D+ on an A-to-F scale.
* The DVD has a killer LFE range and a great soundtrack. One scene knocked my center speaker off its mount!
* The deleted scenes (which are only viewable separately) do help you make sense of some portions of the plot that were not explained in the film proper (which is why I'm baffled that the director says he's happy with this cut).
* The other extras aren't too bad.
* If you own all the other Star Trek films, then face it - you're gonna put this one in the collection, too!

My Star Trek collection felt incomplete without it, and the special features weren't too bad, so I picked it up. Sure a SE might come out somewhere down the line, but it wont be for a few years at least.
