First VACATION...then BABE....now this!
Finally someone has woken up to the fact that people prefer widescreen!
I refused to buy all three of those titles until their were released in widescreen.
Now I am waiting for: CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG, SPACE JAM, and A CHRISTMAS STORY to name a few...

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang: Expect an announcement in 3-5 weeks (or thereabouts) for a November 4th release.

Space Jam: No word yet; I want it just as bad as you do. Perhaps they'll do it as a tie-in to the Looney Tunes cartoon sets that Warner is releasing this November.

Christmas Story: Expect it to be announced shortly for October or November release (possibly 10/7, same day as NL's CV).

Good news. Even better news would be re-releasing Funny Farm and My Blue Heaven.

I got it in a trade last year. I figured with the way WB was, it would be the only release. I'll upgrade when the time comes, but it's a pisser.

Yep. This, like "National Lampoon's Vacation," will be in conjunction with the film's 20th anniversary.

Warner definitely heard the pleas of the fans, who wanted these films released in widescreen (especially "A Christmas Story"). Glad they're starting to deliver.

Oh Frabjous Day! Callooh! Callay!

NLCV is my Christmas season staple (as is wonderful life for many people) That and A Christmas Story. So happy these are coming out widescreen. Add dragonslayer to the mix and count me as a very happy boy.

Check the announce date: yesterday. It just hasn't filtered to the e-tailers yet.

Where did I get it from. I must have an "in" with Warner.

We need Fearless Widescreen!!!!

When will Warner finally re-release Peter Weir's Fearless in a decent widescreen edition. This is an amazing visual movie shot by Allen Daviau. Am I alone in my admiration of this movie???

Dvaisdvd.com says this'll have a commentary and trailer. that makes it an SE? I'm very disappointed than none of the Vacaton DVDs have deleted scenes Of course the fact that it'll finally be WS is enough to get me to buy it.

I love that Bugs Bunny gets top billing on the cover.

I am mad to hear My Blue Heaven is getting a WS release, I had just picked it up. But glad I waited on the rest.

Wow all this news is so awesome!
I'll be snaping up Space Jam this time 'round
And I too would love to have a decent release of Fearless. The reason I still havent bought it was b/c It's not widescreen. To me it's one thing to buy My Blue Heaven fullscreen (Which I have) and another to buy Fearless fullscreen (Which I won't)

You got it wrong, Elwood. It's NOT getting a re-release.

What LBPound23 said was "Even better news would be re-releasing Funny Farm and My Blue Heaven"...but that's just his wish, not a release notice.

Enjoy the copy you just bought.

I'm with XXBigbeeXX - Fearless is a great movie. Apart from the photography, Bridges is great, the story is intircate and well layered and Weir's direction is spot on all round.

Back to topic: Christmas Vacation widescreen? Great!

Vagas Vacation widescreen? Where!

Even better would be a box set of all four. I also agree on WS reissues for My Blue Heaven, and most of WB's comedy output. Most of it is open matte anyway, but still nice to have the anamorphic versions.

More like "when".

I expect it to be announced within 60 days, probably for a release on the 2nd Tuesday in December. That's my S.W.A.G. (Scientific Wild-Assed Guess) at it.

I have Spies Like Us. It's open matte and can be blown up to fill a 16x9 display and get the same result. Not as good as anamorphic, granted, but better than all that head room!

I want Nothing But Trouble as well - very funny movie. Still think we should get the Vacations in a box though.
