"LIMEY" - WIERD ENGLISH SUBTITLES?

Hi, I love "The Limey" dvd, a lot of stuff I haven't seen before but i did find one wierd thing. I watch the film with my Japanese girlfriend and she likes to watch films with the english subtitles - on this dvd there are no english subtitles even though it says that there are. We were waiting for the subtitles and they weren't there then names started to appear "Senator Robert Kennedy", "Lem Dobbs", etc., I later realized that the english subtitles were for the commentary track, so you'll know who is speaking. I've got around 200 dvds and have never seen this - anyone else?
