Gilligan's Island Fan question?

Dear DVD Fans:

For any of you Gilligan's Island fans out there, do you ever think you would want to buy DVD's of Mr. Sherwood Schwartz's (Gilligan's Island and Brady Bunch creator) other work like It's About Time, Dusty's Trail and other such similar shows? My Mother the Car, Captain Nice, etc. . .

I'm just curious if fans of Gilligans Island would want to see other such themed (?) work from that era.

And if you like that broad type of humor.

Some people hate such shows, but considering how well Gilligans' Island does in reruns, the program does have its fan base.

Sincerely,

JThree

Everyone who's a regular around here probably knows that I'm a big fan of buying DVDs of television shows.

And I love both Gilligan's Island and The Brady Bunch.

But, frankly, I've never even heard of the others you mention (except for My Mother The Car, and I've never caught an episode of it). And no matter who is behind it, I would be pretty reluctant to spend money on a blind purchase of a TV series. There's too many others that I *KNOW* I'll like to worry with the blinds.

I know, I know...I blind-purchase films all the time. Why not tv shows? Well, they get cancelled for a reason.

There's still a flaw in my logic, yes, and I know I'm disappointing you with this argument. But the fact is I would not be buying them, and I think the vast majority of the consumer base feels the same way (rather arrogant of me to say that, but I do think most people would skip these purchases).

And the current owners of these properties (doubtful that it's Sherwood) should be rather protective and careful of investing in DVD releases of those shows; it might prove to be rather risky.

Thanks Unicorn:

The feedback's good. I do think the tv medium does not take proper advantage of its own strengths.
