What's the deal with The Simpsons Treehouse of Terror DVD? - DVDfile.com forum for DVD, Blu-Ray, and HD-DVD

From what I can gather on this release this release is that these episodes will not be available on any of the Season box sets. I just saw a listing for this DVD today, and wanted to make sure that this wasn't going to be something similar to all those South Park discs that came out before we eventually got the seasons released on DVD.

I just wanted to get some clarification on whether or not it's going to be a waste of money to buy the Treehouse of Terror DVD when the episodes may end up on the season box sets later on down the line.

It is Treehouse of Horror, you had it right the first time!

These episodes will be on the season sets. These are just...alternatives. I guess, if you're a big fan of the ToH eps, you might not want to wait years to own them on DVD. These don't have much appeal to me, I'd much rather wait for the seasons.

I'll be getting this one--it would be nice to have the episodes in chronological order though.

I like the fact that the "Treehouse of Horrors" (TOH) episodes are placed on its own disc. That way, I don't have put in a season set disc to watch one TOH episode, and take it out and put in another from a different season set to watch another episode.

I will be picking this one up along with the christmas dvd, because it will fullfill my Simpsons fix on dvd until season four comes out on dvd sometime next year.
