Help me out with the name of this movie...

I remember watching it years ago with my grandparents.
It was like a cartoon and I think it was about the effects of nuclear fallout. And it had two main characters.
And I recall the days going by and them aging and their hair falling out.. (not 100 percent on that though)

That's all I can remember.

I love this movie & hope one day it will get on DVD.

"When the Wind Blows."

The plot is below. I stole it off IMDB because I get emotional when I try to explain how beautiful I thought this movie was. Anyone reading should be aware that it contains SPOILERS!!!

Based on Raymond Briggs' book. A old British couple, Jim and Hilda, who live in the countryside, believe in the fact that the Government will always know what it is doing. However the world is fast heading for the Third World War between the US and the Soviets. Jim prepares for it by building a shelter using Goverment pamphlets however both of them still believe that the war will be fought like the Second World War and they can't fully understand that the war will be fought with nuclear weapons. All too soon, war breaks out and Jim and Hilda survives a nuclear blast. They stand back and wait, they believe, for help from the Government and for things to get back to normal in a couple of days, little knowing that help isn't on its way, and that, unknown to them, Jim and Hilda are slowly dying from the "fallout" radition poisoning and they will probably not survive...

God, I haven't seen this movie in a looooong time. I remember renting it years and years ago just because Roger Waters did the music for it (I'm a huge Pink Floyd fan), and really didn't know too much about it. What a bleak surprise I got. Not that that's bad, mind you.

Sorry to revive an old thread for such selfish reasons, but I wanted to brag about two things.

1: I finally got a successful bid for this laserdisc on ebay. So, you know, horray for me.

2: I told a girl I started seeing...aw, Hell, I guess she's now officially a girlfriend. Anyway, I told her about this movie and how much I liked it. Without telling me she looked for it online, and though was afraid to buy a copy of the movie used, she did find the soundtrack on cd at amazon.co.uk She slipped the disc into my home theater and waited what eventually became hours for me to turn it on and play some music. A very sweet surprise from a very sweet woman.

She sounds, as they say, like "the one".

BTW, I'd love Where The Wind Blows too. Never caught it on LD (maybe it's about time) and my Fox VHS just isn't up to it anymore.

Best thing I have is the widescreen taped-off-Channel 4 showing they did a while back.

Beautiful film.
