Rock: Criterion - Two different covers?

I just bought the Rock, and my cover looks like the one on the Criterion website, but I've seen another version of the cover on the net, where the Rock writing, is much bigger.

I rememebr something happened like this with Man Bites Dog: Criterion.

Can someone tell me which is the right one.

Thanks,

Maybe the two versions correspond to whether they're in the original double/thick case, or in the newer slim case?

The copy I have is the double/thick case. I got it when it first came out.

A lot of times, the cover art that Criterion originally releases online differs from the one that gets printed. Sometimes it's a completely different image, and sometimes the text is just different. For example, the original "Sisters" cover art released on the Criterion website had the original poster art, but it was then replaced with the cover art we have now, except instead of orange, it was yellow. When I finally recieved my copy of "Sisters" I was suprised to see that it was orange and not yellow.

Could I possibly be going blind because I see no diffrence in the cover arts beside those words under the first cover?

'The Rock' logo is about twice as big on the 1st picture.

The title in the first picture takes up the entire width of the cover/ case and is huge. In the second picture the title is much smaller with plenty of black space on both sides.

I believe Soggy is right in that the first cover was likely just preliminary artwork considered. I too have seen Criterion cover art go through phases before street date. "Jubilee" and "Red Beard" are other recent examples if I recall correctly. I hadn't seen any alternate "Man Bites Dog" artwork though... that would be neat to see.

The first cover released online for "Man Bites Dog" had the exact same image, but a much larger text. The text was tall and skinny, and was positioned at the bottom right of the picture. I believe the text was red.

I saw that they were bigger. But sometimes on the internet the pictures are made bigger than they actually are so I figured that's what it was.
