Wow i actually like the cover art. It looks so Spiffy. I think the Nightcrawler and Mystique cover works better then the Full Screen Magneto and Prof. X cover.

At least it looks like a X 2 1/2 will not be released. 2-Disc, good extras and i'm pretty sure a DTS track is scheduled to be included.

Its a keeper for me.

From what i saw on IGN DVD boards it looks like a November release
(couldn't click on the thread itself. Just its title i could see)

I pretty much like the cover-art and it sounds like a great DVD but its a shame that there is going to be a Pan & Scan version

Aww... give the people what they want. As long as there is a Widescreen I'm happy...

I also think the cover art is acceptable...

That seems a little soon. A little over a month to start what I'm guessing would be a huge ad campaign. I heard dates for release for both September and November, but I was hoping someone heard something official. I don't know if I would believe that 9.16 date very much.

Oh my god.....the cover art......looks.........good. And the special features look kick-ass (hopefully we will get the same or similar ones on the Region 1 release). Can't wait to load this one into my player!

The cover art looks pretty good. None of the heads are too large in size. I like both the widescreen and fullscreen covers, but will obviously be getting the widescreen version.

Looks exactly like the 1.5 art-which I guess is the point. Anyway, I'd rather have Lady Deathstrike on my disc than Halley Barry. Damn-no slipcase or foldout?

I guess I like the cover art. It doesn't bother me like most 'big' movie covers do, but it doesn't excite me either.

If it's a November release, I'm going to have an aneurysm. Walking into Best Buy that month will be like Charlie walking into the Chocolate Factory for the first time.

Not because it will be overwhelming and amazing, but because my local Best Buy has a river of molten chocolate running through it.

I like the cover art, too, though mostly because it's got a hot looking Rogue on it.

Can't wait to pick this one up. My second favorite movie of the summer after Pirates of the Caribbean.

Aww. I want the box, but I already have 1.5

I hope there's a Jurassic Park 4-ish offer, where you can send away for the box.

That collectors box is cool, but I think I'll pick up the regular edition (widescreen) now and wait for the trilogy box set.

Release Date

According to SuperheroHype.com

On one of the new X2 Extreme Wallpapers it has a moving section for new info. One of them says catch X2 on DVD November 25th Not an OFFICIAL Official statement but good enough for me. It is a Fox Studio site.

Why the wait

*at least it was made official today

My guess is that following suit from last year, it'll be a 5.1 mix that is helped out by enabling EX decoding.

Either way, I'm buying it.

I bought the first R1 edition of X-Men when it was first released so I will be buying the box set as I have been pondering over whether to sell this one and buy 1.5 and now my problem has been answered. I was hoping they would release a box set with 1.5 and X2 in .

From thedigitalbits..

Quote:
Also today, we have specs on Fox's X2: X-Men United DVD. Set to street on 11/25 (SRP $29.98) in both full frame and anamorphic widescreen versions, look for the 2 disc set to include Dolby Digital and DTS 5.1 audio, audio commentary with Brian Singer and Tom Sigel, a second commentary with Lauren Schuler Donner, Ralph Winter, Michael Dougherty, Dan Harris and David Hayter, 11 deleted scenes, The Second Uncanny Issue of X-Men making of documentary, 11 featurettes (including The Secret Orgin of X-Men, Nightcrawler Reborn, Evolution in the Details: Designing X2, United Colors of X, Wolverine Deathstrike Fight Rehearsal, Introducing the INCREDIBLE NIGHTCRAWLER!, Nightcrawler Stunt Rehearsal, Nightcrawler Time-lapse, FX2: Visual Effects, Requiem for Mutants: The Score of X2 and X2 Global Webcast Highlights), 3 theatrical trailers, a stills gallery and more. Sounds like a nice little package.
So looks like we get that DTS after all...
