Name this Walter Matthau Title Please
Help!!!. My memory is going!!??
![]() I am trying to find an old Walter Matthau title in which he loudly exclaims several times during the movie the word POMP-EEE-I. Not much to go on is it, but that is the best that i can remember about it except that I enjoyed it as a younger man and that I want the DVD if it is out. |

Give us some idea of the visuals that are going on...what time period is the film and the scene, are set in...was this a costume movie....co-stars you remember...how long ago you saw this film....etc. ? We need more to go on ! It sounds like "I'm Not Rappaport", to me. Last edited by mikenyc : 08-08-2003 at 09:54 AM. |

I don't think this is Walter Matthau. I think this is Paul Ford as The Mayor in "Music Man". The setting is a fair and he is giving a speech, or keeps trying to give a speech but is constantly interupted. It's been a while since I've seen the movie, but this is seeming right to me.

Well, he plays a crazy guy in
Couch Trip, The (1988) with Dan Aykroyd. So, if his actions in the context of the film you remember could be considered 'crazy' then perhaps this is it. My favourite bit in the movie is when he comes out with all of the Jelly Donuts and they each have a stir-straw stuck into them and he says, "If anyone wants donuts without jelly, they're ready."
