ALERT: Host needed for August DVD of the Month thread!

Well, I think a very specific list of duties would help... but as I'm a fresh, eager young member of this board, I would consider volunteering.

larphillips, if you do a search in this forum on "DVD Month" you should find previous "DVD of the Month" threads and you can get an idea of how they worked.

One tip, DO NOT post a poll like I did since it just confused the feeble minded members who tried to cast their votes for that month....

(I guess that's why I'm still suspended... )

I think my first post in the thread for last month kinda explains the process: DVD of the Month - July 2003

Essentially, people vote for their top 2 DVDs of August and you keep a running tally on the votes for a week and a half or so. First place gets 2 points, second place gets one point...
You can provide a list of the month's main releases/ likely vote getters if you like, but it's not essential I suppose.

yeah. I believe it did occur last year when a certain film came out on DVD, and then it won again when the extended edition came out another month. There should be some limitation where one can only vote for one of the two releases.

So does Lar or anyone else want to host the belated contest for August DVD of the Month? We can't miss a month after nearly 2 years of these monthly contest!

I'm going on vacation in California (San Diego) for a little over a week as of tomorrow morning, and will be without Internet access as of 2 hours from now. Hopefully it'll get done.

Since I won't be here and the voting may be over buy the time I get back, somebody please pencil me in for the following votes:

02. All the Real Girls

Thank you. My cowardice was showing a little too brightly there. I guess I would prefer to actually be here long enough to live through one of these things before I take on the task for myself. Consider me a Jr. Future Volunteer.
