Further Details
20th Century Fox Home Entertainment have announced the region one release of Buffy The Vampire Slayer: Season Five starring Sarah Michelle Gellar. This six disc package will be available to own from the 9th December this year with the packaging retailing at somewhere in the region of $59.98. Fox have also let us know that the sixth season will be available to own from the 6th July next year. We'll bring you more details on that a little closer to the time. For now, here are the season five specs and art:

Fox's release info makes it sound like all 22 episodes on this set will be Full Frame (1.33:1). After rationing Angel Season Two episodes to its conclusion, I need more Buffyverse! I like the art for S5--the character poses don't seem as stiff and awkward as past seasons.

S6 already announced for next year?!? Sweet!

I'll ration my Angel S3 episodes from Jan/Feb right through to July (I need "Once More, with Feeling"!)!

Maybe Xander and Anya can find their way on either S6 or 7--they're the only main characters who haven't appeared on the DVD box art.

I actually don't like the Buffy photo on this set... she looks a little goofy... and yes, Xander does need a cover appearance really bad...

As for the dvd art i think its ok. Happy to see Spike on it but wish they included Xander and maybe Glory on it as well. (something like that) I might have to start buying my season box sets as the show no longer plays everynight at 2 am for me anymore

Only on at 3 am and only 3 days a week and not 5 days like last year.

My wife doesn't. I have tried and tried and tried to get her interested in watching the show, but she just can't be assed to. She is watching the Alias DVDs, which I suppose is a step in the right direction, but she is fighting me on Buffy, and I don't think she'll ever break.
