Anybody find THEY LIVE?

I went to Best Buy and they said they weren't getting THEY LIVE in until Oct. 7th but I know that the release date is today. Did anybody find it anywhere?

Yeah, most of the internet retailers are listing it as released... but I preordered my copy from Deep Discount months ago and I haven't gotten a shipping notice yet.

It's on backorder at DDD now, but they are still showing the shipping date as ~9/23/2003, even though it's the 24th.

I'll probably just cancel my order from DDD and pick it up at Walmart, where I saw it over the weekend.

Many Wal-Marts seem to have it, but mine does not.

I know two people who already have copies, one from DDD and the other from Amazon, I think it was. Both say it looks terrific.

It IS out there...most retailers are just slow-freighting it in to save money.

Maybe this is more of an Offshore Colonies discussion point, but...

Both England and Germany have modestly-packed SEs of They Live and, I'm told, Prince Of Darkness, with 5.1 and Carpenter commentaries (On TL, he's joined by Roddy Piper, and it's supposed to be EXCELLENT).

HOWEVER: I've looked at r2 screenshots, and They Live is slightly croped on both sides to give it a 2.1:1 Aspect Ratio. Maybe it's just overscan, but we all know how fierce Carpenter is for that 2.39:1 ratio...

Got mine from DVDEmpire on Monday. I've learned my lesson with Universal catalog titles. Preordering has saved me a lot of hunting.

The Best Buy I went to on Tuesday didn't have it either. Although I boycotted Wal-Mart for carding me on buying a rated R movie (I'm 18, at the time I even had a beard when I tried to buy it). Also, for other reasons, but that right there set it off, any store that has such a stupid policy as that and enforces it gets my . But, I really want this movie, so I'll check my Wal-Mart out today.

To answer your question:

Prince of Darkness
They Live
Village of the Damned
The Thing

Keep in mind that The Thing CE will be the original release and not anamorphic.

I've had They Live on pre-order from DDD for a long time now, and it finally shipped today.

I already own the original Image release and I'm keeping it for the cover art.

I'll join Unicorn on the Wal-Mart sentiment. My local WM didn't have it either.

I went to Best Buy on Tuesday... and that was a no-go. They said they weren't going to get it for a couple days, but there was 2 on order for every Best Buy in the area.

BUT I GOT IT!!!! I went to Barnes and Noble, who had one copy, and with my Reader's Advantage card it was only like $12.

I haven't watched it yet, but will do so soon!

I was randomly at Barnes & Noble last night returning a book I got for my birthday that I already had. I figured I would check the DVD section even though their prices are insane. They had 1 copy of it so I made an even swap..nice!

I picked it up at Newbury Comics last night. They had one copy and it was on the shelf with all the DVD's instead of on the New Releases shelf.

Barebones?

Is the new release of They Live on DVD comparable to the Image disc or is there a better transfer and audio?

I saw a copy at Circuit City for $9.99 yesterday, but I'm waiting for the
Carpenter box set since I have none of the four movies and have always planned on getting them.
