I was killing a bit of time at lunch hour today and came across this one. I haven’t watched it in some time but remember the basic premise.

I was going to pick it up but started to wonder what the audio and video were like. Has anyone seen this on DVD?

Is it a buy or a pass?

Hey, at $5.88 at your local WalMart and under $7 at Best Buy, why not buy it??? If you don't like it, resell it or gift it. It's hardly more than a rental.

True enough. It is pretty cheap. But if the Video is grainy and the sound is bad getting it free is a bad deal.

Maybe Walmart is a better place to get it. I hear there return policy on opened DVD is really good.

I've had this DVD for years and enjoy watching it everytime, the picture is without any flaws: no grain, black level is excellent and the 5.1 Dolby Digital remastered soundtrack is great with many rear surround effects, I'd say go for it

I too really enjoyed this movie.. especially Michael Keaton's performance.

Hell, at that price, the only drawback I can see is the snap case!

I too always see it in the bargain bins in stores.
I remember renting it when i was much younger and not thinking much of it back then. I imagine it would now seem horribly dated, predictable and overall kinda bad (especially with the always scary Melanie Griffith in it), but that's just me. If you're willing to take a risk for the low price, I'm sure you could resell it somewhere and get your money back if you regret it. I don't plan on seeing it ever again though.

Marq, you'd be surprised how well it holds up. It doesn't really date itself and it is something that appeals more once you get older and really understand the implications involved, and how the law isn't always on the side of the 'good' people.

This is one of those dumb silly films that gets me every time.

It's a shocker movie, all broad strokes and silly logic, but packs a punch and entertains.

The disc is great - I picked it up cheap too - transfer is very fine and the audio is up there with other mixes of the time.

At that price, and if you're in a have-to-buy-something-mood, I say grab it!

Pacific Heights was one of the most infuriatingly stupid thrillers I've ever seen in my entire life.
Hated every frame of the last half of the movie.
