Who needs it?
Who wants it? Who cares? ![]() But seriously - you now could watch divx coasters on your computer. So what? There are hardly any around, and they're pan&scan anyway. Why bother when there's a selection of thousands of DVDs waiting to be watched in full glorious widescreen? ------------------ Unca Dom, DDS-088 dvdfile.com administrator pfleghaar@dvdfile.com |

I'm desperately trying to figure out why one would want to install a Divx player in their computer.
That is kind of like modifying your car to run on regular gasoline. However, to make it a fair comparison, regular gas would have to: a) Provide less power than unleaded b) Only be developed and sold by subversive bunch of lawyers and retailers c) ONLY SHOW PART OF THE F***ing PICTURE! Divx - isn't it gone yet? MERLIN |

Hmm. Interesting, though, that less than a year after divx's demise (yeah!) that it's now possible to view divx discs on your PC. How would this have been dealt with if divx was still in business? Hard to say. For sure the offending parties would be sued, but as with the DeCSS crack, just about eveybody with a computer would have it, and they wouldn't be paying for divx movies any more.

I think Quark has confused the Divx home video system with the network video compression/transfer system of the same name.
For those Billy Wilder/Marilyn Monroe fans out there who don't own laserdisc players, and were hoping for something to tide them over with until the DVD releases eventually come out, better luck next time. RD |

probably did misstake it
![]() Dont know cause i havnt ever had a divx disc nor will i ever have one! But thought it would help some of those who had bought a divx player and discs and wasnt able to play them! Sorry if I offended anyone by adressing this subject! Found the link on a place for dvd (in sweden) and thought maybe someone might be interested here! Guess not ![]() well since i have no interest in Divx myself! I wont post any posts that dont have with DVD to do! Even if i think Divx played a signifant part to making the DVD format the great thing it is today! Quark ---------------------------- Say of the day!!! Divx is a dead format, it was destined to die a horrible death. Why o why keep digging it up. It is no less rotten than it was years ago. ------------------ Istagi *Feather Head* Moderator of the Now Playing Forum DDS-351 |
