Funniest/most entertaining commentary?
I'm just curious as to what you folks think is the funniest commentary out there on DVD. I haven't seen many, but American Pie's was pretty funny, Idle Hands had its moments too.

My vote goes to "Muppets in Space".
Hilarious commentary track with Kermit, Rizzo and Gonzo. You may also want to read this thread where we were discussing commentary tracks before. ------------------ Unca Dom, DDS-088 dvdfile.com administrator pfleghaar@dvdfile.com [This message has been edited by Dominik Pfleghaar (edited 05-23-2000).] |

the usual suspects was very good, especially the uncanny impressions they did of each of the actors. but one of the funniest commenatrys ever is Bruce Campbell's on the SE of Evil Dead.
as for serious comentary, jodie fostar on Contact was excellent and insightful. ***added at a later date*** oh! how could i forget! the cast commentary on Criterion's Armageddon! Ben Afflek's Billy Bob impersonations and Michael Bay ranting about the problems with the space suits was a riot. [This message has been edited by esc (edited 05-24-2000).] |

I just rented The Limey (which I really enjoyed by the way) and I've got to nominate it for most bizarre commentary! It was a pretty good commentary for the most part but I found the parts where they tried to get all arty and funky distracting. I want a commentary to tell me about the movie I'm watching, not to be a work of art in itself.
On the other hand, I have to applaud the obvious effort that went into producing a DVD of extremely high quality. |

Both of Evil Dead's tracks are a riot.
Army of Darkness has a great one as well. Also Escape from New York's track on the LD & (soon)DVD is great fun to listen to. Criterion's Spinal Tap track with "the boys" is funny as hell(I hope the new one is too). All of Terry Gilliam's tracks are cool. ------------------ -Dougpirana " It's not my damn planet, MONKEY BOY!" [This message has been edited by dougpirana (edited 05-23-2000).] |
