Movies that are getting/need special editions

I just saw Grosse Point Blank A GREAT FILM. I see the DVD is in the shops but it is non-anamorphic with no extras. I just can't bring myself to buy it.Which begs the question whenn will the special edition come out. I know it's been asked before, but is there anywhere i can get a definitive list of all forthcoming releases and special editions, or any news on the movies that have to come to DVD
eg Back to the Futute
Godfather
I cant buy Blade Runner Groundhog day, Grosse point Blank Pulp Fiction until they are special editions.
PS anyone know of any sites that have side by side region 1 vs Region 2 reviews, i live in Ireland and my player takes both.
Thanks

A good synopsis of the events/history of the Back to the Future DVDs can be found at http://www.bttf.com/dvd/.

As for Grosse Point Blank, I agree it needs to be redone, but if memory servers it is a Disney film which means a re-visitation any time soon is highly unlikely. Groundhog Day is another that seems unlikely tog et a special edition revisit later.

I've read rumors about Bladerunner, but nothing concrete other than the next edition will be the real directors cut.

With Pulp Fiction, you can purchase the Region 1 release from Alliance (in Canada). It has extras, and the image is slightly improved from the Buena Vista USA release. One Canadian dvd site off the top of my head is http://www.cnl.com/.

Hope this helps a bit.

I heard about a Pulp Fiction SE being made along with a Jackie Brown and I believe it was on this site.

I happen to think Princess Bride, One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest, and Fargo deserve the SE treatment. And I think Waiting For Guffman, Dick Tracy, Fantasia, In the Heat of the Night, Lawrence of Arabia, and Bridge on the River Kwai deserve a disk.

In the Re-Special Edition category, Aliens needs to be redone with seemless branching technology.
