Streisand: Yentl - Director's Version completed!

Barbra Streisand announced on Oprah: After the Show today that she has completed a director's version of Yentl for release on DVD.

Features:
  • New color-corrected print never before released to home video
  • Director's commentary
  • Deleted Scenes
  • Featurette on the Actor-Director process

It sounded as if this has been complete for some time. She said United Artists controls the film and recommended that the audience urge UA to release the film to DVD.

She said that she approved the final print of the film prior to its reproduction on home videotape; however, she didn't look at an actual printed copy until recently. At that time, she realized the colors were wrong. It will be corrected for DVD.

We're 1 month from the 20 anniversary of the original release of this film.

UA, can you hear me?

Because, despite the hecklers who posted above me here, I WOULD take this issue seriously and send a note to the studio.

I would buy this film day-and-date it hit DVD. Don't knock it' cuz it's "Babs". It's a good film!

I have to agree. Amy Irving is just BRILLIANT in this movie.

Despite of what people may say about Barbara, whether it may be true or not,

anyone who can sell tickets at a $1000.00 a pop, and sell out a show, and get away with it?

THAT'S GANGSTA

That stunt alone shows who's the real P.I.M.P.

When is that lying bitch going to make good on her promise to leave the country for good if Bush got elected?

She is the antithesis of everything that is worthwhile in this world, and must be stopped and or extradited at all costs.

The fact that sheople keep paying to see her is only eclipsed by the fact that she has the balls to charge $1000 per ticket.

P.S. Any thread with both Barbra Streisand and Oprah mentioned without a following insult cannot be taken seriously.

How about staying on topic, Rush? A little Vicodin might help.

Personally, while I was never a big fan of Babs nor of Yentl in particular, I know it's a popular title and is certainly deserving of a DVD SE. I hope MGM Video decides to release it, as I would imagine they'd make a decent profit from it.

OK

Anything that would help this women further infect the world with her ever growing ego can not be a good thing.

Tell me you didn't want to shoot her after Nutz?

If there are any psychos stalkers out there looking for a target, it would be hard to miss that nose.

I have seen Yentl once. That is enough. More than enough.
True story:
When my wife and I watched it, we lived in a townhouse.
We could not believe how hideously horrible this waste of celluloid was. It was so bad we broke out into laughter. And it kept getting worse, and we got louder and louder with the laughter.
Well the next day our neighbour desperately wanted to know what comedy we had rented so that she could get it out (since it sounded so hilarious). We had to explain it wasn't a comedy, it was just Yentl.
Boy was she disappointed. Not nearly as much as we were.
